@@ksenchy That, in essence, is the problem with modern high-end devices. They have hardware that draws heat under load. Apple was smart to disband their relationship with Intel and focus on making their Macbooks more efficient. Intel's hybrid cores could be more performant, yet people wouldn't care. Arm is forcing the industry to wake up and innovate (somewhat). Like Intel making it possible to put the E-cores on standby when gaming.

I loved what you mentioned from 1:45 onwards I had a similar case where a customer came to me saying that a device’s USB port wasn’t working & visually I already saw the connector was damaged & the pins were making contact. I replaced the connector but the device still couldn’t be detected by the PC. I suspected that the shorted pins may have damaged one of the 2 PCBs in there. I replaced the motherboard(which was a separate board from the connector) & it worked! The PC could detect device. I told the customer that we had to not just change the connector but the motherboard as well but he didn’t believe me. I didn’t have equipment to test exactly which component was faulty in that PCB so I just summarized that we couldn’t detect the fault as the components were micro-sized. But I did make it layman for him saying that the motherboard was faulty in general and changing to a new one resolved the issue. After exchanging emails for about 10 times, he decided not to go for the repair and paid up the diagnostic fee. It was a long arguement. hahah

I'm going to bet that that video card was lacking proper cooling. A malady that seems to affect most cards like that. Today was my shut down my 6 year old DELL XPS 9560 for its yearly cleaning and thermal paste change out. The fans were quite "fuzzy" and there was a lot of hair all around. Disconnected the battery first and then removed the two fans. Removed the heat sink and then alcohol/Q-tip removed the old thermal paste. A good vacuuming of the rest of the mother board, back vents and under the battery and all was good. I use a very small spray bottle filled with 99% iso so that I can spray the fan blades without getting it on the motors. After a lot of Q-tipping it was clean.................. Dashed on the TP and sealed the heat sink. Attached the clean fans and then plugged in the battery (Still using the same battery but it has dropped in time use from 6 hours to 2 but it is not showing any signs of "pregnancy". This is my main stock day trading computer so it's on 24/7 but plugged in. If I'm out for the day on a stock trade day, that's when I rely on the battery. I'm looking at new Dell XPS versions of the one I still have as a back up. 8 years ago I was a Lenovo fan but they started building them too cheap. Screens would go black for no reason or it would get really hot. I kept it always on an "air flow mat" so as not to block the holes but it didn't help much. Also too many Bios alerts for weird stuff.

I find it hard to believe that the two USB ports were damaged from a "FALL". They are well up inside the cabinet frame. To me it looks like "drunk" USB upside down forced plugging. I can just hear the loud cursing going on when that poor computer was being "raped" by the user with inverted USB's and possibly even an errant HDMI cable. Now, after reconstruction surgery by the "surgeon" Mr. Alex, it will go back into that hellish relationship and suffer even more. A serious home welfare check needs to placed on that owner and his interacting with his computer. Maybe have the computer removed and put in a good foster home. Great Show!!!
