great review. can you also do one on the dell inspiron 5000 10th gen 2 in 1? the ports are great on that (except of course thunderbolt)

I got the x360 1030 g3 on friday and here sureView is even in swotched off state a nightmare, the viewing angle is so close to 5° left and right and it is by far not comparable to a normal screen. do you have the same experience? It is barely unuseable with this feature

14" is a good balance for weight and dimensions. Have you seen the new HP Envy 13 and 14 2019 range? Good business/consumer laptop.

why the brightness is less then other device? is it fixes possible? i bought this. but the display brightness it not better and battery backup also less

A HP Sure View display will drain more battery life. Rule of thumb, the lower the resolution, the better the battery life - YL

will there be larger display sizes say 15-18 in future?

Can u pls explain to me hp elitebook naming scheme bc I don't understand this g2 g3 g4 or g5 and also 840 and 1030 and 1040

G9 is the latest generation range. So every year we have a new generation of EliteBook's. 1030 and 1040, 30 is 13.3" display, 40 is 14" display size, etc. 640, 840, 1040 correspond to the different model ranges offered by HP. 600 series laptops general business laptops, 800 series premium business laptops, 1000 series - additional features over the other series.

Please review the next generation

The main difference is the weight and slimness of the Spectre. The downside is less ports than the EliteBook and of course 13.3" vs 14" displays. - YL

Hi, how about the sound quality for hp elitebook x360 1040 g5. Is it the same sound system like 1030 g3? Is sound quality louder than macbook pro 15 inch? Does the sound quality good or better than equivalent category laptop?

I can't compare the audio with the G3 but the x360 1040 G5 is pretty good as far as laptop speakers go. Quad speakers. Pretty loud for video conferencing usage. - YL

Please give me an advanced advice. I am a graphics designer and now planning to buy a new laptop mostly for Photoshop and Illustrator, high res mockups etc.... I just can't choose.. HP Spectre 360 15.6" i7 8750h 4k 32gb ram HP Spectre 360 15.6" i7 8650u 4k amoled 32gb ram HP Elitebook 1040 360 14" i8650u 4k 32gb ram Thinkpad X1 yoga 4th gen i8665u 4k 16gb ram Thinkpad X1 extreme g2 i7 9750h 32gb ram Someone say x1 extreme absolutely overkill for me so do not pay for that Others says for illustrator and photoshop tasks the 4core 8650 or 8665u also overkill so i will be happy with a 14" 4k display 4core laptop. I like the yoga but 16gb ram and 4core i7 enough for creative work? Also can't understand why a 6core 32gb ram Spectre 360 15.6 much cheaper then the Elitebook 4core 14" ?

Difficult choice! The 8th Gen i7 'U' CPU's are definitely up to the task for Photoshop and Illustrator usage. Helps with plenty of memory (16GB min, 32GB better) and a dedicated GPU if possible. Other considerations include a colour accurate display panel (unless you are using an external monitor.) and 9th Gen CPU's are starting to come out like the HP Spectre x360 15-df1010na 4K Convertible Laptop, 4K, i7-9750H, 16GB. We reviewed the HP ZBook Studio x360 4K Convertible Workstation with NVIDIA Quadro P1000 4GB Graphics earlier this year (Part Number: 2ZC63EA#ABU) and it's a creators' dream machine. The Dreamcolor panel is amazing. Good luck!

Wireless speed is very good generally although the Intel 8265 chip is getting on a bit now.
