Thanks! I followed your video and had no issues replacing my keyboard on my HP EliteBook 840 G3! Feel great to have a 9 key again. 🙂

Just a hint, you don't have to leverage keyboard from the top, just put screwdriver no more than 2 cm deep in the keyboard screw hole and keyboard will pop up😊

Does the gold part on cable go facing up or down? I put it facing down.

Can you please tell from where I can buy this keyboard?

Better press keyboard from the inside of notebook with a screwdriver to prevent it from scratches on the top. It's described in hardware maintenance manual.

Yes I realised that later, next to the fan, there is a little gap that you can push the keyboard from the inside.

I have the same but my keyboard doesn’t turn off lights or dim when I press fn + f3. My first keyboard doesn’t have backlit and I change with one which has backlit I installed driver but without success. Thanks

Make sure that your laptop knows that fn+f3 is for the keyboard's backlight . Is there any message shown after using fn+f3 ?

I think the two screws you release from the back go into the keyboard

This laptop has a failure with keyboard and eventually the motherboard. So mad i bought this hp laptop
