Thanks alot! Did my replacement just now. I got the G7 250 version with a DVD drive. There is a slight difference there: When you have removed the screws from the back, you should pull out the DVD drive (its only held in by 1 of the middle screws). Might break something if you dont do this. Because the connectors of the DVD drive stick to the board, but the drive itself is held to the backside. When you separate the 2 parts at 5:00 you might risk breaking something :/ Thanks again, hope my battery doesnt burst into flames. These things are terryfying

Hi, thanks for sharing this video. Replacing is quite easy. I bought a new battery on Ali for 32 EUR, although not advertised as a hp brand, it looks like an original. That's strange, will see how it performs. The original lasted for 1 year, that's a shame, even if this is a cheap budget laptop. It's hardware is okay for a tertiary device though. I recognized there is an empty slot for another RAM to my 8 gb, that's a new mission... :) You keep up the good job, thx.

Hah, you will have no luck finding this information. I recently did this, and documented it, for my apprenticeship. Once I finish the write up, im essentially left with a step by step guide for the procedure. If you're still struggling with this, I could send it to you when I complete it. Fair warning, it involves breaking a bunch of tiny plastic injection moulded rivet/things, and a lot of patience. I know i use the word "break", but it's really all on the inside of the laptop, and the new keyboard is held together just the same once you screw everything back in over the top of it, no visible damage, etc. And if you're thinking "that doesn't sound right!" well, it's literally the only way. There is no workaround.

Ah gotcha, yes it is a '3-cell' battery, so inside it is 3 distinct sections all wrapped up together. You can use HWMonitor to see the battery condition: www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html The wear level on the battery will tell you the percentage of capacity lost vs. new.
