I've been trying to find this song for years; all I could remember was it was on one of a few VHS tapes we'd recorded of CMT before we moved to another state, in a rural location that didn't have CMT or cable (or the hope of it anytime soon). I'd give almost anything to find that tape, but I know that's beyond a long shot. Glad I finally found the song and the video...what a great memory.

Obviously it looks like Andy Griffith was too busy filming one of those special 2HR long episodes of “MATLOCK” to even take the time to appear, and the same thing goes for Don Knotts.

Does anyone remember back in the 80's when Hoyt was on one of those country variety shows... it may have been Nashville Now. He sang this song a-cappella and there was some fruity squirrel next to Hoyt making fun. Hoyt gave it to him right back... but good.
