Loved the Hoyas you hauled! The insularis is an absolute beauty but I need to say that the elliptica just took my breath away! The pattern on leaves is just 🤌🏻 Knowing that a 4 leaf cutting can turn into a beautiful plant like that gives me a lot of hope. I quite new to Hoyas so seeing that makes me feel braver and makes me consider start buying cuttings online to grow at home 🙂 You are a super inspiration in my plant journey! 💚 🪴

H. Tequila sunrise has been at the top of my list all summer 😍 unfortunately not readily available (at a price I can afford lol) where I am. Hopefully next spring there'll be more around. H. Elliptica is one of my favorites and mine recently bloomed 😊 Hope your hoyas bloom for you soon!

Love this collection! FYI, the two hoya bella varieties are dutch names, pronounced "leedah" and "ann-i-kah" "bow-ss" (as in bow down)

I just got a 4 leaf hoya crassipetiolata (super) splash as well. The ‘super’ part may just be marketing. But it is extremely splashy & wasn’t more expensive then plants labeled without the ‘super.’ In any case, I’m in love with it & very hopeful it’ll become a large beautiful plant. She’s so gorgeous!

I got a khroniana (lacunosa) from her a year ago and it's a really happy plant! Elliptica is so dreamy! Hope to get it someday.

Great video again. I'm glad to see that by the comments I'm not the only one with an ever growing wishlist due to your videos. I'm just amazed by the health and beauty of your plants and just hope I can see mine grow nearly as well as yours. I love the Hoya Bellas, I could just look at them all day, and yes they are in the wishlist. I wonder why the Elliptica doesn't travel well. It would be interesting to monitor different ways of posting them, ie, bare root wrapped in sphagnum moss, in a pot, etc and 24hr postage, 48hr, a week, etc, although I don't know how that could be done. I keep trying to see what your tattoo is on your wrist but can't make it out. When I see a tattoo I like to see what it is and the quality of the tattooist as 1) I'm nosy and 2) The artwork can be fantastic, as well as they have a story, a deeply personal meaning. Hope that doesn't make me sound weird lol. Keep bringing the passion and humour, we love it.

My tattoo is mountains and trees. I got it when i was 30. Mountains are humbling and that was my reason for the tattoo. You cannot stand near a mountain and not feel in awe of the beauty. Also, they quickly make you aware of how small you are in this world.

@@KnotDude I love your reply as I fully agree about the majesty of mountains. I love them and being a nature girl at heart I love trees too. We are just a blip in time compared to the age of our mountains and trees. I know you have some fantastic mountainous regions in the US but if you ever get the chance visit Austria and/or Norway as both countries are breathtaking.

Time to add some new HOYA to my collection! ☺️

Got to the Hoya Bella part and kinda giggle because wild fern just posted a video today about how she was going to pot her Bella varieties up together the next time they need to be potted

So glad to see more videos! Especially on Hoyas. Just purchased a baby curtisii and macrophylla. I am wondering if they can handle the same conditions which are working for my carnosa, krimson queen, krimson princess, and pubicalyxs? I have them in a south facing window, with no additional humidity.

I dont have any extra humidity in my home for my hoyas. I would keep an eye on them but I think they will be happy there.

Beautiful collection. One question: noticed several of your Hoyas have roots going into the water. I assume that’s ok then. How do you decide to repot then? Thx for sharing

Yes a lot of the roots find their way down to the nutrient solution in the cache pot. Usually it's no big deal, once they are water roots they usually do fine with very little to some rot happening occasionally. If I see rot I usually just cut those roots.

Hey Adam, could you share how to use bamboo trellis in Leica? I’ve tried but they started to rot. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for sharing more of your Hoya babies with us 😁

Adam, I am really wanting to add calistophylla and finlaysonii to my Hoya collection. But before I take the plunge with these I just need to know if they travel well and if acclimation is going to be a huge shock to them?? (Florida to California)

Just getting started on my Hoya collection. What is pond???

I love hoyas, and I finally got one this summer, but I've just been slowly killing it :( It's only grown like 1 new leaf; most of the other ones have turned yellow and fallen off. I thought these plants loved moisture, but I think they're much more effective at holding water than I previously thought. I've noticed that the soil stays wet longer than my other plants, so I think I might be over-watering it. It's difficult to gauge, though, because one time I did let the soil dry out a bit longer than usual and that also caused leaves to fall off. Bummer, 'cause it costed $18 :( Not a cheap plant.

Hoyas definitely like to dry out between waterings and like a nice airy chunky potting mix.

Amazing collection, love ur videos. But I have to worn you about copper, apparently it kills plants once it starts oxidation. I don't know for sure, pls do your own research

Hi Ivana! I did the research and the amount of copper, even oxidizing, will not cause harm to the plants :)

I used drink Old Granddad with my grandpa until, he passed out!🥃🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😇

The copper trellis is nice, but is it actually copper or just copper coloured? I am wondering because isn't copper toxic to a lot of plants?

It is copper. Copper is a basic plant nutrient and only toxic at really high levels. Having a trellis and even if it oxidizes, it's not enough to hurt it :) I looked into before using it to be sure.

Oh no. That is horrible whiskey. Please try some Woodford Reserve. It will be a whole new world for you.

Oh I've had plenty of Woodford and it's a great one. I try lots of different Bourbons/whiskeys. Blanton's is at the top of my list when I can get my hands on it.

@@KnotDude Blanton’sis great. I love how the bottle corks can be lined up to make the horse run. Buffalo Trace is a nice (cheaper) alternative.
