Hi. Congratulations on the restoration of this beauty. It looks stunning. I have one of these too. But mine the stacking spindle doesn't work on the second record. The fisrt record plays until the end but when the second record supposed to be played automatically the tonearm stops and the platter stops spinning. Do you know how to fix that? Thanks for your video.

Ray, thanks for the video and your expertise regarding the Elac 50H Turntable. I just bought one for $100 at an Estate Sale. It has a Stanton 500 Cartridge. My Friend that runs a Vintage Audio Store told me it's a junky Turntable and I paid way too much. I think it's cool but my Platter wont lift off. At least not like you show. He also said the speeds tend to be inaccurate. I don't even know how to check the speeds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I really like it, it’s built like a tank and sound good too once you learn all of its inner workings, it’s also built to precision… so move the planner around as you pull on it, maybe you need to hit a special spot and then it will pull out, just completely turn it slowly to do a full 360 while you pull it up and see if it comes out… I also paid $100 for mine and restored and I like it…

@@rompstar Mine looks to have a circular snap ring in which I don't have a tool for. Think that is locking the platter. I plugged it in and only the light comes on, speed shows 16 and speed lever stuck. Guess when they said it worked I should have plugged it in. Hopefully the Motor isn't dead. If I can get the platter off, I can see what's wrong. I have two other Turntables but thought this one was cool. Maybe not if I'm out the bucks.

@@scotta9114 ya not sure maybe a clip is the culprit, mine comes out without a clip… those motors were really well made, maybe something else is broken, also try posting to a forum for audio…

@@rompstar Vinyl Engine says there is a round c-clip. In person said to put wedges under the Platter holding it up as far as it can go. Then hit the center bearing with a drift and a hammer.

You know the WORST place for your turntable is on top of your receiver, second worst is right in between your speakers. Just saying....
