Dave good job haven’t work on one in long time easy to work on them in Supermarkets.Howe ice machine was hook to a rack system for the seafood case.

I never seen a Howe, thanks for sharing. I like my flir tg165 hand held, it took me months to find a good price.

That's how I set up txv's on old ice bank milk tanks, just get them to frost out of the evaporator when they have a good ice bank. Interesting machine, we quoted to pipe one up but didn't get the job, would have been a fun project.

never new about howe, you are high tech now with FLIR!

Good stuff Dave never worked on one of those units although I have heard of those . Maybe one day , pretty much a barrel with frozen walls as your evaporator coil and a motor with a blade scrapping the ice 🤭😎. Very straight forward stuff . Maybe I’ll get to work on one of those one day so I can get my tail kicked ....

usually the epr valve is there if its on a remote low side system like a supermarket rack....i have worked on quite a few of them over the years

That's cool with flir. Always wondered why the bottom freezes first. That image shows why. Works its way around freezes the middle last. Iceomatic had issues with harvesting because they use a timer instead of a probe. Manitowoc has a much better design. Cool video.

Worked on one of those howes at a western beef connected to a rack system. Would drip water off barrel if water level is not high enough in the center reservoir and fall in bin making ice mushy.

I dig your videos.. I learn a lot from them...im one of the new guys...

That looks like a normal evaporator with an scottsman ice thickness sensor but I’ve never seen that type of ice scraper! What is that machine used for

RefrigerationTech yes it plugs into my iPhone it works great. The only thing is I don’t use as much as I should.

Makes you wonder how it’s been working like that for so long 😂

Guru has all the toys. Nice flaker fix. What else do you use the flir on service wise? Is it worth the investment?

Apprentice Phil great question. You could use on a bunch of stuff, checking valves, dries, restrictions. This in inexpensive one that plugs into your phone, still not sure if it’s worth the investment yet.
