THIS STORY:
Howard Robard Hughes Jr. was a business magnate, record-setting pilot, engineer, film producer, and philanthropist, known during his lifetime as one of the most influential and richest people in the world. He first became prominent as a film producer, and then as an important figure in the aviation industry.
Later in life, he became known for his eccentric behavior and reclusive lifestyle-oddities that were caused in part by his worsening obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), chronic pain from a near-fatal plane crash, and increasing deafness.

The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

Hedy Lamarr was not buried. She was cremated. Reportedly, one of her sons spread her ashes in her native country of Austria. There is a memorial marker in the Central Cemetery in Vienna, Austria.

Howard Hughes helped Preston Tucker get the engines for his cars. My Dad worked for Tucker and I grew up hearing all about the cars. My Dad even helped with the movie, Tucker, the Man and His Dream. In the movie it shows the 2 men meeting and HH telling Preston where to get his engines. The Spruce Goose even has a cameo in the movie.

When I was a kid, I was fascinated with Howard Hughes. As were most people in the US. He was in the news pretty frequently. I am very sorry his severe Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder finally took control of him. My mom had the same, and compared herself to Howard. However, mom learned to control it enough to have a relatively normal life. Things she could not do, my sister and I helped her with. We saw the movie about Howard, The Aviator, which showed how badly he suffered. Mom said she recognized herself in the movie. Thank you for remembering Howard, and the wonderful way you talked about his life story.

Those eyes. 👁 👁 Those wings! I'm talking about the 2nd Michael statue. That was amazing! One of the nicest most well maintained Cemetaries I've ever seen. Remember it from the live walk. I saw the Spruce Goose in person. When it was in, I think, Long Beach, California. MASSIVE! He just HAD to over do it I guess. 🤷‍♀️ He always had such an intriguing sounding life. He was really messed up at the end. I also remember the mysterious will brought forth by Melvin Dummer. It got ALOT of attention around here. I think there were many wills though. Everyone wanting the Hughes fortune. I hope Howard and his parents have all found peace. 🙏 Thanks Ron! 😊

I remember my aunt told me a couple of years after he died, that because of his injuries after those plane crashes, he became obsessed with cleanliness because of the potential for infection and it just became obsessive. On another matter, as owner of RKO Pictures, he designed an undergarment for Jane Russell although she was not happy with it in the film- so she never wore it but they were great friends- but not lovers. Another interesting episode about a titanic figure whose achievements were somewhat eclipsed by his notoriety as the world's most famous recluse. It's very sad but it does not take away from his triumphs.

Hi, Ron!! I loved this! Oh, my gosh.. I was an Eastern Airlines flight attendant from 1984 until it went out of business. Then went to American Airlines. We used to see Howard Hughes’ airline when passing through Texas at Eastern. The planes were yellow so pilots always called them the yellow banana. I had done a report on him in junior high. I wrote how he had long nails and toenails. He refused to cut them. He was handsome once upon a time, but he became not handsome later in life. This video was amazing, Ron!! Thank you so much!!

I was living in Las Vegas, Nv, in 1976, as a young teenager when Hughes died. Right after he died, the local newspaper, the Las Vegas Sun there wrote up a large article about his life, and mentioned he lived in one of the penthouses at one time near the top of Desert Inn hotel for 4 yrs, and had Mormon aides who helped him. If I remember correctly, he was in Mexico, and was having health problems. He was flown on a private jet from Mexico to the states for emergency care and died enroute. After I wrote this, you confirmed this fact in your video, so I remembered this correctly. It was theorized that due to the plane crash he was in, test flying the XF11 that he barely survived, it messed up his mind to where he was never the same again. Hughes had amassed a fortune worth over 2 billion dollars. He was one bright cookie, but unfortunately went into a severe decline near the end of his life.

I visited that grave area in 1980 it has been redone or something. Another person in the Houston area you might look into is “Red Adair”. The John Wayne movie the Hellfighters was based on. The top was velvet with fake diamonds around the neck with a full satin skirt. Heels and purse with white gloves. I was Howard Hughes. Widow. My teachers loved it. I brought back some memories. Another tasteful video and this one makes me want to read about Howard Hughes. The music chosen brings us back in time. The man died lonely and alone but lived an exciting life before his accident. At the end; living with his memories. It's too bad we didn't experience the potential of other great things he could have done. I'm surprised his grave site did not have anything aviation in/on it. Those tall figures in the back wall looked like flower lamps that maybe shone upwards into the arches? I guess we'll see everything when the renovations are finished? I wish you a great day 🙂

Evening Ron, just finishing off your vedio, was very intrigued by your walk thru this cemetery. Having to say you do your research well was fascinated about Howard's life he indeed was a lady's man. Just imagining all those women he danced the night away with more fun lol. Didn't expect to see his burial area that simply. Well to him he problem like it that way with a gated fence and his parents next to him. Really no one really needs any fancy burial ground unless they request it. Know mine is gonna be simple cremated and rest of my ashes thrown on my parents grave at Mount Carmel. No use saving my ashes on a shelf that will collect more dust. 😆

I've seen the grave for myself in person as well. It's really a beautiful place. People thought it was morbid, but I always said it's a place of solitude and peace. It's meant to be enjoyed by the public. As long as you're not disrespectful, I don't see the problem with enjoying a cemetery.

I think the circle parts with no names could be for other family members and the squares with circles on top maybe for people who are to be cremated?. Or as you said Ron a wheel of some type. Bet if those things shaped like torches were torches and if lit at night would look amazing.
