As a millenial searching for obscure and rare car parts all the time makes me appreciate your words so much! I can't count the times i went to the middle of nowhere just to get that only listed spare part on the planet from an old guy that had a whole garage full of treasure. I live in Germany and mostly search for rare parts from german car-makers that stopped existing in the 1960s or had the spare-storage burned down sometime in the 80s. There is no worse nightmare than to realize the part you need and search might just not exist anywhere anymore. eBay is huge here in Germany as well and i started to get rid of my doubled items and things you once bought to make the shipping cost worth it. Love your videos Don.

Make the listing end during prime time while users are watching TV. Make the race car part listing end during the race on weekend.

Great advice! This applies to more than just car parts. Many of us have toys, comics and games from our youth that need to be liquidated too. Don't leave that stuff for your kids to deal with cuz they'll put it all in a dumpster >.

My father had a speed shop and business since the early 80's. He passed in 2020. I am also in the parts industry so I know what stuff is and have been selling parts for my mom and making our family some good money as we wind this collection down. I have been using Facebook marketplace locally and have been doing eBay with some success and the more I sell the more fun it has actually become. But this video was great in laying it all out there specifically for car parts and will help me get after it a little more. I'm also now seeing trends and looking for things I know I can repeatedly sell so I have gotten into buy mode for certain things. But seriously thank you for doing this video. Very helpful for my journey.

You describe my situation perfectly. Health issues whisper "time to wrap it up" and liquidate all the spare parts I've collected over the years so that I don't burden others with the chore. Thanks for the great video!

Thanks from Germany! I don't know what I would have done without ebay on my American classic cars and such great vendors as you! Appreciate your business and your service like the videos very much - they helped me out many times. Thanks again and keep on going as you are, Don!

Always enjoy your videos and knowledge, glad to see you back! I've used ebay for 20 years, some selling but mostly buying. One of the things that bugs me about it now is the search, so many unrelated items flood searches. Doing a simple search for something like a 67 cougar quarter glass gets you a slew of random items, like 69 caddy tail lights, 69 Camaro fuse panel, 57 ford hubcaps, magazine articles for a 70 Challenger, etc.. Seems like keywords take priority over item titles.

Thank you for a great video! While Ebay makes it easier to sell it still takes real time to do research to see what items are actually selling for, writing copy, packing, boxing, etc., and then deciding if it is worth your time to list and manage.

Give as many details as you can in the details or title. It can save you time instead of answering the same questions from multiple viewers. Keep an eye out for MacGyver rigging ideas and cheap ways to source shipping materials. For instance, if you have a local Amazon returns store, they can LOVE it if you go through the piles of stuff and take the bubble wrap, empty boxes, poly bags, etc. I just fill a cart and they gladly give me bags to tote everything outside.

Excellent video Don! I've been dreading dealing with ebay to sell off some of my late fathers stash. (You know him from many years ago) I too sold on ebay in the late 90s and early 2000s, and it was exactly as described! Plus the amount of footwork YOU as a seller had to do was daunting! Your advice and tips are extremely helpful and a bit more reassuring re-entering the ebay selling world.

When it is an item I know lots of folks want and none are listed currently, I will risk an auction and sell at $1 no reserve. It usually works in my favor but once in awhile you will be disappointed. I like the excitement an auction brings.

That is what Don estimates he could bring in annually BY HIMSELF if he focused full time only on eBay sales.
