"What do you think, when you hear cursed dice?" In one campaign I played in, there was a black d6, which had a d100 outcome linked with each face. Each face determined what category of effect. 6: affects your class or class abilities 5: affects others around you 4: affects the items near you, and those in your inventory--even the die itself 3: affects locations, time, space, position and distance 2: affects the person who rolled the die 1: affects and changes fundamental laws of reality. It has essentially 2400 possible outcomes (there also being a way to 'negative' the different sides). The "Black Die" as I call it, is the most terrifying item I've ever seen in all of Dungeons & Dragons.

They look so 3d though - What did you roll? - uhh somewhere between the rainy thunderstorm and a clean sky

The Ai generated images just made me not want to get these dice.

Having no art would be an improvement since the phrase “Less is more” applies to this. They honestly could’ve scanned the sides of each dice and just use that for the corresponding art

it's cool to have those dice as a dm, maybe a wraith manages to curse a player, so you hand them over the cursed die set and they have to use them for X ammount of rolls/time/ or until uncursed, maybe a warlock or cleric gets a really good roll regarding asking their suggar da...divine/patron for support and they get the blessed one

Or just tell the player your dice is blessed so a 1 roll is a critical success as well as a 20 and now you don’t have to buy dice

The use of unethical ai pictures that are basically ripped-off works of real artist are terrible. @@maximeteppe7627 if you read the terms of service of most social media websites they say anything posted on their website is no longer your property and is now public so anything used from any social media is not theft (that's why I've never uploaded a photo of myself I knew this would happen even when I was 10) pretty much every image thats not from a stock image website is public domain. Stock image websites have been stealing people's shit and then copyrighting it for decades bc most authors are too dumb to actually understand how digital ownership works. Real artists don't post on deviant art they have private portfolios or display art in private places that forbid photos. This is the way it has always been. And good luck proving ai used your image unless the dev basically admits to doing it or keeps the image on the network for some reason there's 0 way to prove it.

The posing is another thing you will notice often, like that yelling face is a common thing you will see and its similar every time. You see enough ai art and it’s obvious immediately that it is, its very distinctly different from normal art

If the cost to bring these to market is more than people will pay, then the project gets rejected.. So if these fail to sell because of the AI Art, then the company will soon learn what not to do..

Then, AI will not have that 95% of artists to steal from, not only increasing it in price due to lesser competition but also reducing it in quality due to less reliable sources to derive from.

Pretty sure it’s AI generated images on the cards, which if indicative of the product quality isn’t a good sign

i thought they would be weighted dice so they're more likely to land on lower numbers

Gotta love that everyone instantly went "oh hey neat" and then after spotting the AI art, rightfully went, "go piss off you tosser"

Use them like inspiration, grant players the dice for doing things fitting to their character's storyline and actions (such as a redemption paladin turning a pickpocket away from crime peacefully) while curse dice are automatically used for roles that go against/subvert the pre established character for the sake of winning (example: the same paladin refusing to show mercy to the BBEG's right hand who's wishing to turn against him)

​@CafeLiquerstreams honestly I don't like that idea, I think the player knows the character better than the DM does. While it's okay to reward good characterization (eg. inspiration), I don't think it's okay to punish anything that the DM deems as "bad" characterization

ngl, these would be great for curses and insperation, insperation lets you use a blessed dice for one roll and if you're cursed you have to use the cursed ones

This is actually a neat mechanic.

I mean the cursed dice just sounds like my regular dice 😂

I would’ve thought the cursed die would only let you get to half your roll. For example, a d20 has two sets of 1-10 printed on it.

I'd say an extra 1-5. Even with a curse you should be able to roll over 10.
