After that date, a person born in Britain was only given British citizenship if at least their mother had 'settled status'. I don't know anything about the system in Italy, so thanks for outlining that. I understand that from what you are saying, you basically can't get Italian citizenship unless you have a parent of Italian descent. Where as in Britain, someone can get citizenship without having any British heritage. I'm not sure how useful this is though, because from what I've seen Italy has a massive problem with mass immigration from the third world......one of the worst in Europe.

    Wait a minute...something does not add up. If legal migration is UP, then WHY are there such a HUGE number of vacant posts in the UK? Its a question I am currently researching. The domestic market DOES NOT HAVE CHILDCARERS for Brittans children! Wealthy private homes cannot be properly staffed DUE TO A SHORTAGE of qualified workers. SO WHAT KIND OF LEGAL IMMIGRANTS ARE ENTERING THE UK? Can anyone answer this?

  • @davidmccann9811

    @davidmccann9811

    Жыл бұрын

    One word, ECONOMIC INACTIVITY. So basically, the number of working age immigrants being added to the job market and their skills set is far less than the huge number of Brits making themselves economically enactive (especially since COVID). What this means is Brits that have left their job and are not looking to replace it with another......they have given up work. So for example, people in their 50s that have decided to retire early, maybe by selling a property, claiming a good pension or having investments. Then there are people that have started a family, but have worked out that childcare will cost them more than they earn. People that have gone sick long term and had to give up work etc etc. Whatever the reason, they are no longer in the work market. Then we have the immigrants. First off many of these people are not of working age, so maybe children or elderly parents that will be dependents of people already here. Many more come as students, so they won't be looking for jobs either. And a huge amount of legal immigrants are highly qualified, so they won't be looking for minimum wage jobs in things like the care sector or hospitality (where the worst shortages are). Basically, the immigrant workforce coming in that can fill low paid jobs is far lower than the number of Brits leaving such jobs and the labour market entirely.

    You need a floating rough water barrier. Cover it in cameras and sensors. Tow it out and patrol it like any other border. As for legal migration cut it to zero and then work back to a sensible number. Oh and before someone says human rights, international treaty et al. Unclos specifically states that any passage is not innocent if its prejudicial to the coastal states laws. "The loading or unloading of any commodity, currency or person contrary to the customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws and regulations of the coastal State" In short we can stop them without breaching Article 98 the requirement to render assistance.

    Yes, well noted. The man in the street only sees what’s physically countable today as immigrants are landed by our obliging RNLI and Border Force. The hidden migration is the wives, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and too often, grandparents. So, the real numbers must be at least fives times those ‘stepping ashore’. Indeed, automatic acceptance of families ( to avoid the enormous task of processing them) will simply serve to overwhelm us.

    If students represent 500,000 immigrants and Theyare paying their way including taxes via universities, then a new category could be acceptable. Maybe they shouldn’t be include if they are made to leave and not bring in dependants. The illegals should be compensated. for by reducing. Legal by the same amounts.

    The biggest issue concerning the average citizen is the huge amount of people coming over to our shores. The other issue is why the ruling classes seem to be ignoring it all. Is it that the UK is split between leavers v remainers? Simply doing nothing is just not an option. How bad does life get for all of us, before we as a country wake up, and start to listen to the harm all this is causing to us?
