This is great, I think we should do what ever we can to cut down the plastic pollution, and if insects can help us without hurting the insects we should do it, I mean there’s literally a trash island the size of Texas floating in the pacific and it’s harming many species that are endangered and us having the power and smarts plus capabilities we have a responsibility to keep this earth clean

You asked for experiment ideas: Start a colony of meal worms that are given a diet of 50% plastic by weight. In a perfect world, maybe start several different colonies with each one getting a different type of plastic. Make the mealworm colony big enough that you can use them as a fixed percentage of the diet of a colony of mice or rats. Have a control group of mice that get plastic free meal worms at the same fixed percentage. Allow the mice to breed for at least 10 generations. Take dna samples monthly from each generation and have a lab look for any consistent mutations that are happening in one group but not the other. I really like your channel, and you obviously have experience with insects and small reptiles etc, but I dont know what your science backround is like. I'm hoping you have enough backround to get the idea of what Im trying to spell out. ❤

Tiger worms, earthworms, composting insects, beetles, ants, cockroaches, locusts, rats etc. Have you tried any of these types of pests and insects etc to see if they can eat it. If plastic destroys rats then plastic could serve as rats posion to help cull the rat population. I've seen many videos with people making bricks etc from all types of plastics and showing how durable it can be for construction etc. Yet though we do need to find another way to achieve destroying plastics from daily living.
