That's what my family has done! My parents made rules about me and future courtship and a third party rule is important. I'm not allowed to go on trips with male friends without my best friend or family member!

Maybe another suggestion! Travel with another couple. It'll reduce the price bc the girls can sleep in the same room and the guys in another. In tempting situations, the whole gang can be together to prevent that but some days there can also be time with just your bf/gf in public places perhaps.

Me and my husband to be have been dating for 4 yrs and knew each other for 8yrs. He’s 33 and Im 32, and we kept our virginity because we want our marriage to be Godly. Its worthy. Trust me. Its not easy for us because we both are grown up. And we see each other everyday. But we always pray for the Lord to help us stay clean before Him. I would add to keep your eyes focused on Jesus if you all are both in love with Jesus it almost doesn’t make sense to do something that would dishonor Him. the Lord has been teaching me that sin prevention doesn’t come from rigidity of keeping rules and discipline but true sinless living overflows from being in love with Jesus its a paradigm shift where the thought of sinning doesn’t even make sense

Amen! All the videos I’ve seen on this topic just encourage how not to be as susceptible to giving in to the desires of the flesh- through legalism. If we love Jesus the most and are led by the Spirit then we have self control. Period. Btw, for everyone who see’s this the goal shouldn’t be to just stay a virgin. I wish I had heard them say there was no sexual immorality in any kind of way not just intercourse. I hope so.

Love this video! I met my boyfriend at a Bible school in Germany! We were supposed to travel over Christmas break with a group of friends but everyone backed out. Luckily we found another guy and the three of us traveled together. It definitely helped that me and my now-boyfriend hadn't kissed before or been physical (except for holding hands and hugging). God definitely protected us and neither of us felt tempted. It was a time to get to know each other and on that trip he asked me to be his girlfriend. :) Now that we are back home, I wouldn't go on a roadtrip alone knowing what could possibly happen. Definitely looking forward to marriage and traveling together!

I love this, and appreciate that looking back your advice is to not take the trip! I think it’s so humble of you to say that. Me and my husband did no trips while dating - some “mini” day road trips to places a few hours away, back home the same day... a fun way to spend time and yet less tempting! And then our first trip together was SO exciting.

I had to think about this issue a lot recently, and on top of the risk of temptation, there is also the issue that other people watching (esp non-believers) will *assume* you are sleeping together even if you aren’t, and find it amusing and raise their eyebrows. On top of that, younger Christians watching will likely see it as an example, and as Romans says, we shouldn’t do things that may cause our weaker brothers to stumble :) we are Christ’s ambassadors in a watching world so we have to be careful! Well, my husband and I went on several trips together before we married ... more than a week, slept next to each other (mostly in a tent, though), we did kiss and cuddle ... and we still were virgins on our wedding night. We just wanted to save sex for marriage and we did. Nothing is impossible with God's help and a bit of determination. (And having sex too early is not worse than lying or being greedy - so ...)

This was such good advice I do think that in like really public places I think it’s ok to hold hands and maybe even kiss sometimes because there is no harm in that it’s not like something is going to happen around a bunch of people but I do think that when you’re alone it’s good to set boundaries thank you for the tips❤️❤️

I visited my boyfriend who now lives a couple of hours away a week ago. The trip went from being 2 nights to 6 nights. He had a workplace apartment AND his new apartment because his days at the workplace apartment weren’t up yet so I stayed there while he stayed at his new place. We made it a point to read our Bibles and pray together every single night since we were together pretty much all day. It made it so much easier for us since we made it a point to honor God while alone. So if you’re a Christian and a virgin and you ever spend that long with your bf or gf (which I also don’t recommend, because we struggled. Physical touch is our love language.), I highly suggest spending time with the Lord together.
