How we spent a Night on our Boat in the Dry Tortugas National Park
The Dry Tortugas is made up of 7 islands totaling 100 square miles. Whether you’re a history buff, nature enthusiast or avid fisherman, the Dry Tortugas is a must visit.
At the heart of it all, lies Garden Key, home to Fort Jefferson. Fort Jefferson was built in the 1800’s to protect North America. With the location of the Tortugas being along one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes, it made for a great military asset for the United States. Today, the Fort is only reachable by boat or seaplane. The good news is if you don’t have your own vessel to run over in, you can catch a ferry!
We ran our 33' Invincible 90 miles from Big Pine Key to our fishing spot on the North side of the park before heading in to the harbor to spend the night!

The birds squawked me to sleep the 2 nights we were there last year. I actually found the non-stop bird noise comforting. This was one of my favorite destination boat trips that I've ever done. Great video.

I used to camp out 7 or 8 times a year. Sometimes with no tent. A suggestion for next time…instead of taking one huge tarp to drape over part of your boat in case of rain, take two small tarps, one for each of you and roll up in it if it rains. Love the videos! I’ve learned a ton from y’all that I use fishing here in NC.

I've camped countless times, many in the heat of summer. Buy a battery operated fan for each of you. You will be amazed. Lastly, get some ear plugs. They work wonders so you can get some rest. Crows were my enemy early in the morning. I think they tracked me down to make noise. Awesome trip!

Looks like an absolute blast! The lack of no A/C, beds etc wouldn't be a issue, however no bathroom def would make it interesting depending who you went with & how comfortable you are around them lol... Keep killing it , more camping over night trips would be awesome to explore some places / fish at night that you normally would not be able to do!

Florida humidity outside is like British houses in summer inside. AC is very rare inside here so it can often be 90 degrees and 95% humidity inside at night in the few weeks it actually gets hot here....I had a point somewhere along the way, Oh yeah, I feel your pain and the Dry Tortugas look amazing.
