in a way i'd guess he needs the break the most, having been selfless and one-of-a-kind leader w extra responsibilities for all these years. i noticed in a proof photo they reduced his height/scaled him down even more than usual so his height wouldnt make him stand out, his height is his fave feature about himself and he's so egoless, they usually put him in the back in photos cause he's tallest and he's not the maknae/ visuals like v, jimin, jk, jin. yet in a way he has the most opportunities since his english is so fluent, so in a way his sacrifices are slightly greater in that regard, starting even w the fact that former CEO asked him early on if he wanted BTS or solo support from them and he chose BTS. seeing him talk about feeling so guilty was hard

@@Yk-vx7rq Seeing Namjoon break down like that shook me to the core. The years that he held this team together, when he himself, was so young to lead them in the right direction. Can you imagine managing 6 other very different personalities and making sure all of them kept in line? He basically was a parent, leader, motivator, mentor, and pretty much the glue that held everyone together. I'm not diminishing the other guys by any means. They all have been so supportive of one another and love each other like brothers, but to have that responsibility on his shoulders when he was still a young guy himself, is tremendous. This is why he is so respected by the other members.

They need that time for themselves, to learn to be fully themselves again, not robots, not money making machines, but just human's in their mid 20, thirty and rediscover themselves as artists. Namjoon crying broke me. They kept saying that they don't want to disappoint us... I want them to know that they could never disappoint us and that we want them to be happy. We will always support them 😭❤❤❤

I'm a Korean ARMY. I cried a lot while watching the video yesterday. These kids are so lovely that they already apologized on "yet to come" and promised to come back...I think it's ARMY's job to wait for BTS kids who can't even talk about their appointments and feel sorry. In Korea, they are used as election tools by the former president, used by award ceremonies recognized by foreign countries, and they work hard at the U.N., the White House, but their recognition, popularity, and star quality are consumed, and they are not recognized as singers or artists. In my country and abroad, they were always using it without acknowledging it like a successful out-of-wedlock child, and even their agency said they were taking on new challenges, and it seemed that they were going to make money, not music that BTS liked. I think they probably struggled a lot in this environment. They're very considerate. That's why they came to the conclusion that they're taking a break from their activities at an important point. I think we're kind of a declaration that fame doesn't matter. As always, we, BTS, overcome it wisely and believe that each and every one of us will grow like a company at a higher level. Also, those children, who are deep in the problem of military service that they have no intention of solving in their country, will go because they don't want to see this and that. ARMYs in Korea don't want to see them fighting their own battles over this issue, so it's dirty and cheap, but if you're a Korean man, you don't have to go and feed opportunists. Rather, I think that the experience will be a lot of property for our children when they return from military service. As long as our bts are in the army, North Korea will not come over, right? Hah, hah, hah. I think they are like sons, friends, and sometimes teachers and parents. Those kids who grow up so young and live the world wisely are like teachers and parents to me. Ha ha. For your information, I am a 45-year-old woman and have been divorced for 10 years. lol I'm living with my 15-year-old son and they've healed me for 10 years. I am proud to have BTS in Korea, but on the other hand, I am often heartbroken because I cannot protect my children with a limited fan base in a small country. Thank you always and I love you. Is Bangtan rumored to be from what you call a lousy country? Your writing is not accurate. Delete your writing because your Korean image will get worse. It is all wrong to say that the former president has never been used as an election tool with Bangtan, and that he is not recognized as a singer or artist due to his hard work at the United Nations and the White House. Also, it is not true that BTS seemed to make money, not his favorite music, because he was always using it without recognition like a successful out-of-wedlock in Korea and abroad, and his agency was trying to take on new challenges. Why are you telling the world that Korea is a terrible country? If the agency was a bad company, Bangtan cannot be maintained without trouble with the company for nine years. Now, BTS just wants to grow up individually. First of all, exemption from military service is a priority for these seven people to continue their group activities. Jin will join the military within this year. After that, they join the army in the order of age. This problem bothers BTS. The South Korean government has yet to make a clear decision on the issue.

As one of K-army, it's so heart breaking to imagine how they felt when they prepared the gifts for army recently. They must more sad than us. But little bit of break for long run... how brave and smart decisions they made. I'm older than them but I learned a lot from them. (Always love your reactions btw💜)

I'm so happy right now. Namjoon explained it so well on how they've been stuck, tired, uninspired, exhausted and they've lost their path after ON. It was really obvious to me and many Army. They need to do their own things, go their own path so BTS remains worthy and proud of their work. Two days ago I wrote on Quora that I thought of leaving the Fandom for the lack of authenticity in their later work and I was tired of waiting. They confirm everything with this heart to heart conversation they're having in front of us and I cried when Namjoon got emotional but It's about time they did something. Be free little birds and may BTS come back again. 🕊

My heart is broken💔 The tears that I’ve held back all day at work are finally flowing freely. I’m 57 yrs old and just over a year ago my daughter introduced me to group called BTS. I have loved every single minute of it !! I’ve never experienced anything like the Bangtan boys or army before. I truly understand, love and support their decision and I want each one to be happy, healthy and successful as they come into their own. May nothing ever break the bond that binds together this awesome group of men!! I’m so sad that I became army too late. I wanted more time! I’m sorry.. I just needed to share. 💜

I too am 57 (well I will be in a few months) and I was introduced to BTS by my 83 yr old mom, 60 yr old sister, & 18 and 28 yr old nieces only 2 yrs ago but have been a hooked ARMY. Don’t think and be sad that you joined too late. They have 9 yrs of content fr music MVs, performances, dance practices, VLives, Run BTS, Soop. Commercials, etc to keep you busy and not missing them. Watch and rewatch those and keep listening to their music and support the solo projects that will come up and by the time you know it they’ll be back better than ever. ☺️💜

Let's support them guys whatever they do they're taking a break from making music together and focusing individual projects it's not like they're disbanding they'll do group activities like run bts,ads everything understand that please they also need a rest and read the hybe statement 💜and they promised they'll comeback we believe our TANNIES bangtan forever ot7 forever. Grammy may have once been a goal for them but from this dinner we can tell it's now no where near being an end goal for them. They just wanna do what makes them happy and what's overall best for them individually as well as as a group, and whether it's what we want or not this is what they decided and we have to support them you know🙄💜. Besides it's not like they won't still accomplish big things either by themselves or as a group so let's just wish the best for them, stick with them, and see how it goes eh

Knowing that they are still together and took a break as a group to shine on their own, it is admirable because it shows that there is no envy or anger because someone shines more, that is friendship, they celebrate with you your achievements, that's the closest thing you have. getting friendships like that nowadays is very difficult. That's why I admire them a lot, always with Bangtan!!!

This Festa was such a roller coaster of emotions. I just feel bad that we were not able to completely know that they have already given us so much and we will always be with them and they deserve to take a break and lives like they want to. Let's all army's promise each other that we will always support and understand them no matter what.

I think it was an intelligent decision. It is really hard and painful but they need to prioritise their mental health to continue. When Suga mentioned that he couldn't write anything, it means that there is not inspiration. They are REAL ARTISTS. We are going to support them until they are ready to come. Hybe must support them as solo artists. The return of BTS will be majestic. That's for sure. They paved the way for other Korean artists. This had to happen at this time. Jin is mostly likely going into the military by the end of the year then Suga has to go early next year. Then it is JHope and RM about the time Jin gets out and so on. It could be about 7 years from the time Jin goes in and Jungkook gets out. You can not do any business activists while you are enlisted so they won’t be able to perform as a group while someone is enlisted. I think we will have alot of great solo projects and sub units And they will all have a chance to rediscover who they are

I will support ALL our boys in whatever they do going forward! ARMY for life! Bangtan for life! 💜

I love that they are taking a break, they need the mental reset and to live life outside of BTS to grow as individuals, I'm excited to see what they learn and how they evolve, they are smart that they recognize this and I can't what to see their come back its going to be epic!

I cried a lot in last night because I’m happy for them and just sad in the same what ever I will support them “always and forever”.🥺😫👋👋

Jimin and Namjoon, and I think Yoongi, all mentioned that there are things that they want to talk to us about, but can't. I think some of those things are about contracts, maybe dating/significant others, living arrangements, but for sure one of those big things is military enlistment. I do think they want to try doing solo activities for all the reasons Namjoon mentioned, but also because of what they didn't say, and that's enlistment. Yoongi mentioned that there was a time when they thought about "leaving" during the pandemic, and said that they would just now be returning. He was talking about enlistment. But other opportunities came up with Dynamite and the Grammy's, and I'm sure there were other factors, too, as to why they decided to wait. But Jin's time is up, so there should be an announcement coming soon. Since they evidently weren't given any type of exemption, Jin will have to enlist by December, and Yoongi by March. So they would have entered an enforced "chapter 2" soon anyway. I was hoping they would all go together, like it seems they were planning to do during the pandemic, but it looks like those plans have changed. If they spread it out and do solo albums and activities while other members are enlisted, they might not be finished with enlistment for another 7 years, when Jin is 37 years old. So that is what worries me. I know their intent now is to come back together as a 7 member BTS, so I will pray that they still want that 7 years from now. I do think they plan to do some episodes of Run!BTS, and they may do occasional schedules and appearances together, but if they really do start enlisting in December, we may not see them making music or doing performances all together for a very long time.

Same. At first I was thinking I wouldn't watch any reactions but then I thought, I wonder how my fellow army feel about this. And I couldn't help but try to find out even if it might hurt a bit to watch it more than once. But like you said, in fact doing so made it easier to swallow and made me come to more of an understanding. I didn't know what to think the first time I watched this and was numb and crying without really knowing why. But now that I've taken a step back and really taken it in I can much more than I could the first time, understand why they're saying what they're saying, and why this is necessary. And hearing others opinions further solidified that and rounded out the once narraw prospective I had.

This is a bittersweet Festa 2022 loves our OT7 and will be here when they coming back as a group again

When RM started to cry, I just lost it. We rarely see RM cried. It really hits different when he cried. We could wait, we will always be here. Waiting for the 7 of you. I'm fully aware that this will definitely come. I guess I came prepared that's why I don't seem to cry but ngl- I'm also in pain deep inside. But we'll wait guys. You deserve to take some rest and to retain yourselves. The magic shop will always be open for both ARMYS and BTS.

But yoongi and jin are same age, if jin enlist in DEC when he turn 30, sugar will turn 30, two months later, so he have to enlist too, maybe they will go together, yoonjin I guess

I felt like I had the wind knocked out of me when I watched the Festa this morning and cried off and on all day. I’m so glad I rewatched this with you guys because I have such a better understanding of what the guys were trying to say and why they need this time for themselves. It's a break and separation of sorts, but we shouldn't make it more complicated than it is by saying on no they're disbanding or going on a hiatus, or indefinitely separating, because for one they didn't say that and two let's just let them do what makes them happy. In the end we know they all love each other and don't want all this to be over for good. Even if they "disband" someday they'll still always be bangtan sonyeodan (BTS) and the people we love and support til the very end right😁💜

Also because they are in that phase of late 20’s where you are looking for some self-satisfaction whether that’s for your own inner professional growth and/or thinking about having your own family down the road. My friends and I went to that phase. I am just glad that bts assured us that they will be back as a group. I think we need to let them experience the other side and just be themselves for a while. I do hope they will be back, which I have a feeling they will.

But a statement from Hybe, the South Korean entertainment company behind BTS, said they’ll still be working on projects as a group, as well as individually. “BTS are not taking a hiatus. They want to focus on solo work. That is normal. They want to show their individual.

Always will stay by their sides and my love for them will never change bcuz they've helped me so much. So army's support our guys bcuz I believe as well they do need space to grow as individuals and we must support them in this time. Love u guys 💜💜

People we overreacted i fear…. It’s an hiatus from GROUP ACTIVITIES… they will still meet up and do BTS RUN episodes in a while… meaning we in for one hell of a ride.. 7 albums.. 7 then a SURPRISE comeback most likely.... WHEW. They are still in promotion for proof! They will do run bts episodes!! They will keep coming back one by one for their individual albums!! we will be busy supporting buying streaming voting and they will announced their next group albums!! And Tours too!! Wasn’t it literally like this between MOTS7 and dynamite break? My memory’s a bit blurry but I’m sure during that time we just got run BTS episodes and yoongi also released his mixtape and I think some more solo songs by members. I think they just need some time for their separate solo works that they’ve been hinting at for quite a while now.❤️🌹💜 They will definitely comeback stronger than ever. I've had a hint since they have their own Instagram account, also the meaning behind yet to come, j hope on Lollapalooza Festival and V with Wooga squad on In the Soop that some announcement would be made. It hurts badly since most of us aren't used to see one member separately from the others. What hurts the most is that they are asking u for permission to them have a break, there honesty and love for their fans, they are scared to disappoint us, most of all they take a step back in their peak of their career to look for their direction again. Don't worry they aren't disbanding everyone, they just need break for the meantime and let's give it to them since they are working hard for us this past years nonstop to make us happy. Lets make them happy too. Support their upcoming solo projects and albums. I believe on them, their words that they would be back soon. We know that BTS is true to their own words. Let's wait patiently and support them no matter what. REMEMBER THAT THE BEST IS YET TO COME 🌹💜❤️

guys there are ALOT of mistranslations. the actual meaning of the word that was translated as "hiatus" is "off break". they'll still remain as a group but focus more on solo projects. Run BTS (the show) is coming back and they'll continue doing it as well as promotions for brand deals such as Samsung, Coway etc. CHEER UP !!

Thanks for your information. I agree with many of the comments here that it's great that they can rest, find themselves and maybe this is an act of preparing to enlist according to Korean law. I also deeply respect and support Bangtan's decisions. It's just that I still feel heartbroken why Korea and a part of the Korean people are still looking for ways to benefit from BTS's efforts and sacrifices, but also want the guys to enlist in the army. I'm angry at that selfishness of Koreans

@@pixiiie Right 👍 I love Bangtan and hate K-netizen a lot (except for those who really understand and respect guys). Ever since their debut, or for the past 9 years, they have always found a way to satirize, push our boys into troubles and difficulties for silly reasons. This is really bad, but I really wish Korea and its people would once pay dearly for that selfishness. That way, they can open their eyes and develop more respect for others (especially idols). 💜

They have been together for 9 years as BTS. But the got together in 2010. That's 12 years. Sleeping, eating, singing, and living together. They started 7 sleeping in one room to having separate rooms. They have come a long way. So they need some ME time. I get it.

They have been together since 2011, they debuted in 2013. Eleven years together is a long time for 7 young boys. I think with this announcement they're thinking about Jin having to serve in the military in December. I wouldn't be surprised if they all will go and serve at the same time and be done with it together in 2 years.

I saw the translation of the article into my native language. That they're going to just focus on the solo, it's not a break and it's not the end. There are already articles that J-Hope will release his album in the summer (Perhaps he will release an album for the LOLLAPALOOZA open-air music festival). I think they decided to focus on solo, because they will still join the army (of course, I don't want to, but most likely can't avoid it). And also some Korean ARMY write that the translation was not quite accurate there... Also, they love each other very much, so I don't think they'll break up as a band. They will just have a little rest (or they will all join the army, nothing is known about this), release their albums and start working on a new comeback with renewed vigor. Well, if it was a break, then HIBE would have issued an official statement on this topic, but there is nothing. So far everything is going according to schedule all their broadcasts with recordings of performances and so on

Yesterday was one big emotional roller-coaster. The guys have always been so raw and open with us. But seeing them with tears in their absolutely destroyed me. The fact that they were feeling so vulnerable and didn't know what direction to go in couldn't of been easy to admit. I respect them so much. I love them so much. I will always support all 7 of the members wholeheartedly💜.

Everybody please go and support Jhope! Show the power of ARMY! Do it for every one of the members. Let them know we love them no matter what. They're our boyz after all.

Army always is behind BTS no matter how it goes!

I thought about this morning not knowing of course this would happen. These were seven different people who are still 7 DIFFERENT people. Moving in lockstep, having to group think has been really hard on them as it would be for any person which is why they tried to quit so many times in their career, because they were destroying and wearing out each other but didn't want to lose each other . Remember for a number years they would release 3 mini or full albums a year, go on 8 month tours. Almost all of their 200 plus songs have choreographies that were beyond tiring and exhausting, film Bon voyage, Run BTS, In The Soop, Season Greatings and film documentaries simultaneously. I cried cause I was a little sad but that fact that being creative on a deadline makes them not enjoy what they loved and to make them feel empty. With so much pressure on their image from all sides. To feel guilty to ask for a break was a little much to witness that burden as they know a 3rd of their fans currently came in over the last two years . I want this for them. I want them to run KNOWING where they are going next it is brave to say I got nothing left in the tank for now. I want to see them have a daily routine, be at their families dining room table, fall in love and just wonder........ I want Seokjin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook to be regular people and have some of the joy and comfort they have given me and so many. All I care about that they remain family love and support each other. And if I know my boys well they will so I am good. I am good

you're so kind ARMY. and yes them saying they felt guilty for thinking or wanting a break...like guys you are not robots please take all the rest u need to rediscover yourselves and be free from the pressure of the media and mllion of people around the globe! please, ARMY will still be there for each of you

@@dominiquemelissa7613 exactly. I agree with both you and this person here who worded it beautifully and perfectly our emotions and theirs. They really must have been feeling a weight even though they enjoy being together it was still a little painful for them with the tight schedules and endless group routines. I felt awful that namjoon thinks he's a bad person for wanting something as simple as a break and a stepping away point after pushing and pulling for so long. And that they all feel like somehow it's not fair to us...They need rest as any human does, and I'm actually happy they are taking this time out to finally do so. I'm sure they've felt things closing in on all sides and I can only hope this time away does them some good mentally and physically however long it must take. We'll always been there with them every step of the way no matter what. ARMY will always be happy as long as you are 💜-💜-💜-💜-💜-💜-💜

Agreeing with you. They want a chance I breathe on their own and they shouldn’t have to feel sorry about that. When we “meet” them again hopefully both sides will be in a better place. In the meantime I intend to ignore baseless suppositions and support their solo work.

This was hard, but I do understand. I have been an NKOTB fan for 36 years. They've been together since 1984. Close to 40 years. They went on a break in 1994. I actually met Jordan and Joe Feb 18, 1994(day Hobi was born). They took a long break(15 years) to pursue solo careers and acting etc. It was a much needed break. Fans and media kept trying to force a reunion. But I guess it was never the right time. Til 2008 they decided to reunite because THEY were ready. We the fans were so shocked and happy. We thought we were only getting 1 tour. But, they are still together today, touring. Not for awards but for the love of music and the fans. They reunited on THEIR terms. So , my point is have faith in BTS. They need this time to find themselves, grow individually, and find their way back as a group when they are ready. To bring it back to their love for music, Army and for them. Sorry for long comment. I'll support BTS individually and as a group. Just as I still do with nkotb. Love you guys. Its going to be ok. I love NKOTB as well. Fun fact my bestie from elementary school is cousin's with one of the members. I remember a few times during recess they had put on a mini concert for us. As well as got to go to one of their houses to swim and ride horses. A couple of the members still come by the hair salon I go to get their hair cut too.

@@mollydelacy9007 that is awesome. I met Jordan and Joe at a fan dinner in 1994, just before the break (I'm a Jordan girl). Then 2008 I had 5*VIP and met them all. I had lost my oldest daughter prematurely a year before and I cried when Donnie held me twice and he whispered it's going to be ok. I met Mark Wahlberg when he was 18 or 19. He was sitting on Donnie and Danny's bus and chatted with us. I'm now 49. So a long time :) I actually wonder what advice nkotb offered bts when they met at AMAs, if any. Donnie is Army

The way I was instantly in tears 😕

watching this the first time was really sad (and it still is at the end when they're emotional about how army will react) but now I'm actually really excited watching them talk about how they all have albums lined up and seem super excited to share their own music :) proud of them! the only way i'd be upset is if they were taking a break because they hated each other or something like you see with other groups but obviously that's not a concern for BTS so I'm not upset

Don't be sad , BTS not disband not hiatus , bighit says BTS will be a group of all time , but now they will be focus on solo activity, it's like solo album ,maybe acting etc . They will be back as a group soon . Run BTS soon , chapter 1 is end , and now chapter 2 : going solo , and chapter 3 they will be together again . Don't be sad okay , keep support their solo project no matter what

Bts is not going on hiatus though!! They’ll be working together as a group but the more focus gonna be on their solo activities.

Hey guys, just want to confirm again. Both Hype and BTS are confirming that the subtitle is incorrect. They’re not hiatus, they just slow down, take some breaks for themselves. But they still work at a group and solo projects as the same time. They’re even planning to film Run BTS. And I think because of the military services upcoming of the members, that’s why they said they will not be the same (like always together together in every shows/ musics). It can be a bit sad when you think about that, but let’s support them and wait until the full 7 members done their military, they definitely come back with us 💜💜💜

you guys are one of the few that actually understood the video despite not knowing Korean. This is NOT a hiatus or a disbandment. This is a pause on group music and music promotions in order for them to grow individually. They need to find themselves in order to come back as BTS stronger

The CEO sent a letter to the employees of HYBE to clarify that BTS are not disbanding, or taking a hiatus and that they will still be working on group projects, just they will be focusing more on solo work
