It depends what condition is the old paint If it will be same color painted It's a lot of things that has to be looked at avg between 3,500 and 7k

I guess no primer is needed when painting?

Will not hold up. No primer or sealer. Start flaking off in 6 months to a year.

I was thinking the same thing. Definitely need to cover up the bare metal spots with epoxy or etching primer. Also, they won't be holding up long either without a mask
