Carp are an invasive species and should never be returned to the lake. They have literally destroyed the habitat for for most of the native species, especially Cutthroat trout, which were the predominant species at one to me.

@@johnnyonthespot1665 I agree, they are a problem. Fun to catch though.

I love catching the carp. Always a big fish, fun to reel in, and it feels good walking away knowing you pulled some invasive species from the lake. Even if it's not a huge impact the more people fishing them the lower the population goes!!

Great video! Do you mind listing some good Utah lake tributaries for us amateurs to try our luck at? I feel like the only places I’ve had lots of success fishing is at stocked ponds, but I would love to go after different species like you do!

Thanks for watching! Provo River right where it flows into Utah Lake is good to try for the next month or two! Mill Race is another good one. All the other tributaries are small enough that if I list them here, people will get mad at me. Ha ha. But if you use Google maps and look for all the little streams that flow into Utah Lake, they should all be a really good bet this time of year.

Just one of the streams that flows into Utah Lake. Ha ha. I'd get beat up by a ton of local fisherman if I said the exact location. But look for the deeper holes in the tributaries.
