you’re a Mind-Reader, Fortner. though, I believe they still plan to turn her into a toy hauler. either way, I don’t see any-type project outside of any realm, for the GHPC boys. the ole Fire Truck has sat idly by, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve been amassing parts for her since the introduction. I always look for her in the vids shot on property. she needs a bath & some love

Srss guys have come here and competed and didn't do so well. Calling these rigs rock bouncers isn't accurate. They are way bigger, stronger and heavier. That's why ben spinney calls them havoc rigs.

@@scotthamby207 no doubt timmy's the man. Havoc style racing is a totally different animal though. There are lots of people trying to get him to north Idaho to compete. Havoc racers have been and are going to srrs races and he is interested from what i understand.

@@mullynoglets Timmy honestly doesn't like mud or rock he tends to better on tracks that are 80% dirt ! That's what he told me when i asked him why he struggles at AOP Adventure off-road park! He has only won 3 or 4 races since they started having events there. Look the place up it's one big rock garden but yes he is the man an one of the coolest laidback guys you could talk to!

For a moment I thought YOU GUYS built it. Might want to fix that title. Cool video though. I'd love to see something like that roll around the GHPC race track someday.

I actually knew this acronym without googling it. But definitely knew these guys have something way better than my drunk service with the marines. So me knowing that wasn’t worth commenting on, because the work they put into making the vehicle and creating a great video

Grind Hard, I am so glad you explained the mechanics of that rock crawler. It's one thing to see it and another to know what every piece of the build does. That is why I love your builds- you explain everything very well.

He didn't explain any mechanics. He talked about the axle tech portals slightly. That's not the mechanics of a rock bouncer. That's one tiny tiny fraction of one part of a rock bouncer

M.R.A.P.=Mine Resistant Ambush Protected. The tldr is that it will deflect an undercarriage blast to the point of falling apart to save the occupants. It will also stop small arms and explosives, but without additional equipment it probably won't protect against a direct hit with anything designed to penetrate armor, such as an RPG or EFP.

So you guys just went to an offroad park, saw these guys and this crawler and asked them to make a video about it? Sick xD

This vehicle is SCARY! Holy cow. Looks so fun!

I randomly bought a sic (but affordable), danchee Ridgerock rc crawler over lockdown. And ended up modifying & upgrading to look very similar to this beast( but 1/10 scale). After watching this vid, & seeing you guys just ripping around in one for real, is nuts! Now iv gotta take it out with a new perspective. thanks guys!

i am very misled by the title, can someone explain what they meant by “how we build a rock climber” and then use a thumb nail acting like it’s been some bts build 😂

Would love to see more electric rock hoppers. Stick a motor inside each tire to get insane control and torque. The batteries would help lower the CoG to keep the thing stable, especially if you mounted them in a moving cradle.

@@westellmodel Didn't the guy specifically say they don't have to worry about the gear based brakes getting too hot because they don't run for long? A 60kWh battery is 216mj, or about 2 gallons of gas. Doesn't sound like a lot till you remember that a V8 like the one they're using is ~20% efficient while electric motors are better than ~80% efficient. So you can get about 8 gallons of gas equivalent out of just a 60kWh battery. How big are the gas tanks in these things? A 60kWh pack weighs about 450kg. A big V8 plus transmission can weight just as much if not more. Plus you could cut out the driveshaft, gears, differentials, pumps, and many other parts and just plug the electric motors straight into those planetary gears in the wheels.

You know the entire time he was around this truck he was taking mental notes. No way they aren't going to build one someday

The Engineering of these things is AMAZING ! MRAP Axles are crazy strong as the vehicle weighs up to 18 tonnes !

You can do some really cool things with torque vectoring when each wheel has it's own high torque electric motor. I'm kind of surprised that that hasn't become the norm yet.
