My cousin brought me a lovely little calico with her two sons once, the day they were born and I had every intention of finding homes for the babies as soon as they finished nursing. But. . . they kept nursing until they were bigger than she was, and of course by then they were part of the family. The sons lived 13 and 19 years, and I had her for 19 as well. Having cat families is lovely.

I now have a mamma cat and her two sons. I couldn't separate them either.

😁 I ended up with a “tabby gang”!! Kids brought home a kitten found in a gutter and starving, then the local vets twisted my arm with the last kitten of the season, then the neighbors left and their cat kept running back to my place so they eventually asked if I’d take him, I then fostered a tabby and his buddy a golden doodle, all of which now live with me..

I have 3 seniors, a 2 yr old and 2 feral kittens 7mo. I have worked on gaining Mama's trust. Time for spaying. But she's pg again. I will get her spayed! I nursed the 3 kittens and Mama thru respiratory infection. I lost the siamese baby. I will help Mama again because I love her so. ❤

I am a terrible foster mom. I have 8 cats because I could never give them up. I actually have one feral male cat living in my house. He will be nine years old at the end of February. We still can't touch him. We have to trap him to take him to the vet. I wish you well with all your fur babies! Love from Texas ❤

@@rachellewalker2967 No. He is very good about using the cat box. I have 9 boxes in various places around the house. He has never sprayed either. He's very quiet too. He doesn't really know his name like the rest of my cats do. He has two best friends that he sleeps with. He will lay on the couch a few feet away from me, but never next to me. He's been in my house for 8 years, since he was 9 months old. I keep hoping one day he'll let me pet him.

@@cindym7234 you’re amazing for taking him in either way, but 8 years without affection? maybe that’s the problem why he’s still feral..I would try everything for the cat to let me show affection, 8 years seems so much to me, it’s almost a cat life time without a single touch..sometimes when you own too many cats it’s hard to keep track of all and give the same amount of affection..hope you get to pet and cuddle with him after all :(

We had 34 cats, mostly related and we were shelling out a lot of money for their needs. Then a friend told me about Chewy. I checked them out and found everything cheaper from them. Same food etc as all the local pet food stores around us, better prices, so we could get more for our money. And when you order more than $59, the shipping is free to your door usually in 2 days. They let you know by email when it ships, and you can track your order. They are wonderful people to order from and do so much to get things right with you and your orders if you have problems. I've been buying from them and very happy with their services for years. Good luck with your little cat family.

This story is EXACTLY like mine except our momma cat gave birth during hurricane Irma down here in Florida and so now my inside and outside have 7 orange Tabbies and since she gave birth at our house the last time we were able to FINALLY get her spayed. She still loves all her sons and 1 daughter and she plays with them every day. The neighbors are also thankful someone finally got momma cat before she had another litter ( she had a total of 6 litters) we have her last 3 litters and quite a few neighbors have one or 2 kittens each from her first 3 litters. It's so important to spay and neuter cats because they reproduce so quickly and like stated in this video she can enjoy being retired because she sacrificed so much to not only give birth 6 times but managed to keep ALL her kittens safe I'm just glad my family earned her trust that she felt safe enough bringing her kittens to us and coming to our house to have her last litter. She LOVES retirement.

Good job on adopting Baby. Also very happy that you're advocating spay/neuter. I have a black and white cat brigade as well. I got my brigade in 2020 when I started doing TNR in the alley behind my apartment. I now care for 4 tuxedos, 3 black cats, 2 cow kitties, 2 gray tabbies, and a gray and white stray that recently showed up. Actually several of your cats look like mine! Thank you so much for giving a home to these strays! We can never have enough people willing to rescue these sweet little ones.

@Skippo tuxie lover here! Yep, I'm with you. I was adopted by a tuxedo boy in 2020 right before covid hit and he's been such a blessing. I wasn't looking to adopt a cat, but he changed my mind. I now have my own "Black and White Brigade" both indoor and an outdoor colony of unowned Community Cats that I care for. Love them all.

I have a similar story. My daughter wanted to help a golden kitten that had no home. The plan was to get her fixed and take her back to the work place to live. But she was so sweet and got along with our other cats so we decided to keep her. We made the vet appointment to get her fixed, but she looked into my eyes and mentally told me that she was pregnant and please help her take care of her babies. So I just couldn't get her fixed before she gave birth. Well we have a house full of golden kitties and it just feels wrong to split this beautiful family up. My male cat loves the mama and her babies he treats them like they are his too. BTW the black and white floor in your house is such a cool match. We just put in golden wood counter tops and it totally matches my cats too.

Oh my goodness I'm so glad you knew not to get her fixed!! When we first got Mama Cat, we tried to get her fixed within the first couple days but she ended up biting right through my mom's thumb when we picked her up. Thank God she did because turns out she was ready to have her babies in a couple weeks!

I know the feeling. I have 14. They were an outdoor colony that had to be moved. They were too sweet to be outside and alot were bonded so, I became an instant cat lady lmao. It's expensive as all hell but I wouldn't have it any other way

First I had one. Then two. When I met my wife it became 4. One day she woke up and said "let's go to the humane society for a kitten. We came home with two kittens and a 2 year old adult. Now it's somewhere between ten and twelve! I lost count. And they're all indoor cats! My Wife is a cat hoarder. And I'm an enabler!

We have 12 fur babies, all from the same family. Four are tuxedo kitties, one is orange, one is orange and black swirl,six are tiger stripped. They are main coon mix and we Love them all. Thank you for keeping them all together, it's important for them to have family near them.

I like your story. Back in the 70s, when I living in Newark, Calif, I heard this loud howling, Meowlin middle of the night, opened door this little black Kitten on top this tall fence, screaming MEOW! MEOW!! So I brought him in fed him, kept him named him Charley. He became my 3rd Cat. When I moved to Reno NV, they all came with me. I now have 3 kitties 40 years later 2 Black & White kitties, and Touritschell color kitty. I love Cats.🐾🐈‍⬛🐾🐈🐾🙀😸🎯🥰

We are up to 23 cats some are half brothers and sisters and it's so nice for the young ones to have the older ones especially for weining period. Non of the mothers wanted to stay there were just to feral and prefer to be outside. Best of luck to you guys and congrats on your cat family it's an awesome experience.

We rescued every single one of them from the feral community we have been treati8ng and fixing since we moved here. You should really try not to judge so badly of people and situations you know NOTHING about. Jacksonville is overrun with feral cats and a lot of us do what we can to help as much as we can so they can have a better life then the one they would have had outside. I bet you are3 the type of person who creates a feral community of cats for someone like me to come and take care of. You miss can FUC% OFF with your bad attitude!! Try to learn something first next time but I am sure you will not considering your comment here.

This is like the story of the 4 kittens I rescued as a litter. Their mother was nowhere to be found then or after, but considering the cats in our neighborhood consisted of a large colony of black+whites, a couple big tabbies, and a sleek tortie, it wasn't a mystery who mama had been. A perfect punnet square of kittens: orange tabby(m), calico(f), and one each male and female black+whites. The shapes of their patterns even match up to each other! It's at least 50 a month just in food for only 4, so I can totally imagine what an effort 7+a dog is! Hope more animal lovers out there with the means can lend a hand in keeping this cat family together for many looking happy years

I was excellent at fostering, placing probably between 100 - 150 kittens/cats in my active rescue days. There were always some cats that just never got adopted. Of course they have a forever home with me. It's part of the responsibility. I'm down to 7 cats now, ranging in age from 6 to 15. My oldest is also a CH kitty. He has renal disease now, which I'm treating. So far, so good. 😁

We also used to feed their papa (who we named Bandit and unfortunately could never catch) and he was the perfect mix of Pongo and Baby (which is how we knew he was definitely the daddy). I have 7 cats, the mother and her 6 babies who are now a year and a half old. The mother was a stray I was feeding and my grown daughter persuaded me o bring her in as she was well along in her pregnancy. The very next day she gave birth to 6 kittens. I planned on keeping only 2 or 3 but in the end, I wanted to keep them all so the whole family is still together. I buy their supplies online which saves me quite a bit.

That is so sweet! So kind of you to keep them all! We "tried" to adopt them out but just couldn't separate them. After we had another kitty die of cancer (after another kitty and a dog died of cancer before that), we did our best to figure out healthy but better food than we had been feeding our original rescue kitties and our bulldog mix rescue. It took awhile but we have them all on the same diet except for Mama cat & Jarvis, whose digestive systems needed something a little different. After moving to a smaller home and new area we have been trying to keep them on the same diet (especially Jarvis with his fur matting issues that have finally been solved with a shave & change of diet) and I have been scouring online & local sources for the cheapest options. Glad you have been able to keep your sweet family together, too! And glad you have found good online options for food savings. God bless you!

Thank-you for rescuing this beautiful cat family. The cats are very lucky to have been found and cared for. I have a 2 year old female tuxedo, that I found as an abandoned 2 week old. I hadn't owned a cat for over 20 years, and I'm so glad she came into my life. I found her on an Easter Monday, and felt she was a gift from God. I found the perfect name for her which is Dasha, a Russian name meaning gift from God.

Wonderful video! Beautiful gray and black tabby. I love her name. Some idiot abandoned this cute and adorable defenseless kitten in the woods to defend herself. That is why she was very hungry and she would have starved to death if you did not come by hiking. The reason why the kitten was so friendly because she was once with a family. We were also adopted by a cat - a mainly white cat with a very dark tabby tail, a dark patch on his hind quarters, and two on his head with a centre white parting, and he likes to be picked up like a baby, and we called him... Baby!

Black & white cats are my favorite! In my experience, all my black & white and grey & white kitties I've adopted have had the best personalities. Full of fun, lots of affection and lots of talking! They all slept w/me!!!

I'm sitting here tilting my head side-to-side, sighing, whimpering, and wiping away an occasional tear. This makes me miss my old rescuing days so much. It was overwhelming, exhausting, expensive and Incredibly fulfilling. I have spent many decades doing this and in retrospect I do not regret one moment.

Take care of these beautiful kitties.Finding safe homes for them. They are very special. Vet services is essential. Your local shelter or tractor supply have vet services. Thank you for taking them in. 💜

I’ve rescued many cats thru the years. Kept most of them, found homes for a few. Always had then neutered or spayed & got their shots. You need to look for places where this is done cheaper. It never cost me $700 a month to care for my pets! I appreciate that you’ve taken care of these cats as well as your dog. They are so worth it!

Hi Marcia! We feed the cats (except Jarvis*) & dog a raw beef and organ combo for about $5/pound. (We have tried chicken, pork, sardines, etc. and there are always digestive issues with at least one of them when we vary from beef and/or eating strikes -- no one likes chicken except the dog, who is extremely allergic to chicken!) We have tried to access raw meat directly from farms but have found it far more expensive than the source we have for 20lb boxes of raw beef & beef organ patties. We stopped feeding dry food altogether after our vet told us it was a major factor in the deteriorating health of many of our animals (Peaches losing his teeth & dying of cancer, Jarvis's matted fur, our dog's skin allergies, and previous animals -- Honey Bunch, Snowball, Gretzky -- cancer & heart disease victims.) *Jarvis cannot tolerate the raw - we buy him good quality canned food with fish and liver in bulk amounts in 12.5 oz cans for about $3.50/12.5 oz can. Jarvis's health has undergone dramatic improvement & his fur quality is amazing now! After we finally found a groomer who could/would groom Persians, he is in the best condition ever! No more mats or tangles since we completely took him off all dry to this better-quality grain-free canned food. The animals have had way less health issues and needs to go to vet since switching to this food, so it's saving us money that we would have to spend on vet bills

Lol same thing happened to me in the French Quarter. Was up to 8 when I left. Well of course they had to come with me. Found homes for half, still have 4. Can't live without them. I love to see stories like yours.

@@theblackandwhitebrigade2521 I had 2 originally mine. My neighbor, was some uppity-up oil executive and traveled a lot. She had two absolutely devine Bombay cats, crow and snow. I babysat them when she traveled overseas. The last time this happened, in 2020, she emailed me and said she wasn't coming back but sent me a buttload of unsolicited money for their care. Then others arrived on my doorstep when folks had to abandon their pets because they were evicted or moved. My sister offered me a lovely house in Fayetteville arkansas. That was the deal. So I wasn't sad, just wanted to be able to take my time.

Bless you! It is difficult; but worth it! I am in the same boat and unfortunately can't help. Mine are seniors; their rx food & vet bills are challenging. I've long since left the foster program and TNR program. Thank you for your sacrifices!

Our pets can be so stoic and mask their vulnerabilities, we didn't have any idea he had so many bad teeth ! Now he's playful, much more contactful, purrs, & is nicer to our other puss . 😺😽😻 ,

I was a failure to when fostering I kept 70% of them😮.It’s hard after having them not to fall in ❤.They all look like my Moo moo that I rescued and had 18 yrs so sweet just like yours.😊Enjoy your time with them.

With feral cats you need to play the long game. They adjust in their own time with lots of love and patience.

Sounds like the three adults are $truggling to care for themselves and their pets. 🥺Rehoming them w/ loving families who can afford to care for them may just be the most selfless/responsible thing you could do for them. 💝

Your so sweet the way U took those sweet babies into your home and didn't just leave them ,some people would have .I have 4 that way myself lol .I adore Kitty's and I've rescued many many and 4 I just couldn't give away lol They r just so precious and so helpless and I hate to know of how cruel people can be to leave them and desert their own Kitty's like they can just fend for themselves .Cats r so smart and so sweet and some think they aren't affectionate and that's just not true .Bless U and your family and your precious fur babies 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

I have a similar story, but it's pretty long. We did turn them all over to a rescue, where they were all fostered by the same lovely lady and adopted out to loving homes. (Sibling rivalries apparently made separating them much easier.) 🐄🐈

Oh I completely understand. Sibling rivalries can be really tough. Baby had a veryyyyy difficult time accepting his siblings at first, but he's finally come to enjoy having them around. I'm glad that your kitties found good homes!!

I have 4 rescued cats, myself, and have had many through the years. We've always tried to do right by any cat in distress or in need of help.

Mom has a strong gene that passed down to her babies. Love all the kitties :)

We rescued a mama kitty (calico) and her 3 babies (black and white). They lived a beautiful life with us, all together for over 16 years. along with 2 other rescues, a total of 6! We miss them so much but grateful to have had the blessing of rescuing them and giving them the life they deserved, keeping them together as a family.💝💝💝💝💝💝

Keep cost down by making their toys,, dry food,, wet food as a treat Monthly or less. Vitamins stop,, so many cat owners can't afford them & their cats are fine.god bless you & your fur babies. I'm really happy you kept the family... ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

Very nice video. It is rare when a family of cats can stay together. My husband and I are on a fixed income now and also find it hard to pay for all the food and vet care but you know, you can only do what you can and don't feel bad if you can't buy the best food on the market. They would all be dead if not for you taking them in. I spend a lot of time on the internet trying to find the best affordable foods for my cats (4) and dogs (6) and I make myself nuts. We feed fresh cooked chicken in addition to kibble and some canned as well but it is more expensive than it was a year ago. I also use chicken feed crumbles for cat litter, it is way cheaper than regular litter and it clumps so you can scoop it. I wish I could help you with hard cash but since I can't I will wish you luck and I hope you can keep them all together.

Wow thanks so much for the suggestion of chicken feed crumbles. I'd been trying to figure out something else to use for cat litter as it's costing me a crazy amount; I will be headed to the feed store to get some!

Her voice is so calming.

As much as we wanted more cute babies from her, we got her fixed almost right away because we knew we would never be able to get rid of them😹

I only have two, but they go INSANE while I'm sleeping I wake up to them running across my bed, stuff crashing down from my book shelves, I can only imagine what they get into while you guys sleep.
