Yes and no. Bruno was in a 7-year dating relationship with Carmen, the mom. The dad was out of the picture and that’s the mom’s real biological daughter. So it was more of a stepdad relationship

We were shown this in a classroom during high school all episodes btw.

I was a teenager who went to Barnes and nobles and bought Black Like Me. I’m biracial and this book was so good. Definitely recommend as an insightful read.

I mean yeah i thought for a millisecond "Maybe this IS from a good place..." and then like alwyas the white man started talking and you go "oh this is MEGA racist" Its tragic really seems like these couples were trying to be friends and the black couple was very tolerant and gave them the benefit of the doubt "its not malice, they just dont know better" then it turned out they were actually holding back the whole time. From the black couples reaction it seems like they were surprised to realize their white friends actually considered them sensitive and silly for even suggesting that racism existed. The white couple was foolish AND malicious.
