Greetings from India. Hindi is similar to Urdu, though I would say Urdu is such a cultured language, distinguished by its tameez. I am addicted to Pakistani Tele serials. I am amazed at the proficiency in the Urdu spoken by Turkan.

We also have a similar dish like your soup, we call it Aash. It is Afghan-Pashtun dish. Also in Iran, Tajikistan and may be in central Asian states too. By the way I am a Pakistani Pashtun of Afghan origin.
