In Australia, doing this creates a problem once you sell your house. Everyone should probably talk to an accountant to fully understand the consequences of doing this.

How big can your home office be?

Does the exterior of the home like backyard count? ( daycare )

What does this question mean? Do you derive receipts from the sale, lease, or rental of tangible personal property situated in Texas? This includes home-based business located in Texas.

Do you just then go the the bank with numbers and an idea or am I lacking documents and terminology?

I'm confused on how to calculate utilities? Is it based on what percentage of time you use utilities during business hours, or by the percentage you claim monthly on rent space for your business?

Awesome short! Do I need to have my home address listed as my business's address in order to write these expenses off, or can I just use my home office for my business?

@@carsonmeyer5561 If the expense is too high compared other similar industries or business ratios it could get you selected for examination(audit). The revenue agent will 100 percent ask you how big your home is and call bs.

@@carsonmeyer5561 you can write anything you want on the tax form at the bottom is called the “jurat“: “this tax return is correct, and true, under penalty of perjury.” Most people think twice about putting down false information on a document, signed under penalty of perjury.
