Lol music theory is so confusing
Beautifully explained. Thanks so much for this man. Also it's refreshing to see a guitarist in KZread actually look like they're genuinely enthusiastic and enjoying what they're teaching. Cheers boss
It's awesome that the #4 can sound so heavy, yet in a Lydian context, it sounds so dreamy haha.
Very well done. Very refreshing. Honestly bro, this is my favorite thing I’ve seen you do. I really hope you put out more content like this man! Keep it up!!

Thanks man! The seventh was my favorite one 🤘🏼can’t believe I didn’t know that one after playing for years
Always loving your guitar playing, Ray. There's just so much joy.

Very cool video🤘🏻
I love heavy and I also love melody.
Very useful lesson man
BRO! YOU'RE THE FIRST PERSON TO MAKE MY BRAIN GET IT! I've been trying for years to figure out that Minor 2nd and Major 7th sound. I owe you a beer (or soda if you're a non-drinker) for this! (Funny story, I call one of the Minor 2nd notes "The Godzilla Note" because it sounds like Godzilla screaming....the opening to Sepultura - Propaganda is the exact notes I think of....also, can we all just take a moment to recognize Roots, Bloody Roots as the first modern Djent song? It's 95% opens, 1's , and 2's on the 6th and 5th)
Dissonance of the devil :) Cool tut.
Thank you for making this video.

@@xanderraymondcharles I really do appreciate it. I've had opportunities to learn this, but it ust never clicked with me until now. You are a great teacher man. Have a great weekend brother. 🤘🤘
ive already been using these and i didn’t even know it. i didn’t learn and music theory or nothing like that have yet to learn any scales just my favorite songs is how i learned the guitar and ive been using all of these just because i found out they sound cool lmao
Low fi pedals can create that creepy old radio static sound for other ambient effects as well, 📻.
Thank you
Could you do this again with compound intervals?
You absolutely need to get white ink tattoos on some of that blackout sleeve it'd look sick.
Wouldn't the minor second be the same as the major second? Both scales have the same second not from the root. I was always told that a half steo up from root is a diminished second.
Ima try it
Dude do you do private lessons (if this is mentioned anywhere I apologize for not thoroughly checking)

Hey thanks for the feedback!
Another commonly used source of evilness in metal music is the augmented chord.
You still doing lessons this month?
Major sevenths are equal to minor seconds moving backwards (inverted) and vice versa. They are almost one and the same in a way. major intervals inverted become minor intervals, Maj2=min7, min3=Maj6, Maj3=min6. You'll have to excuse me, I'm just fascinated by the patterns that emerge in music theory 😊

Good way to remember the inversions, for me, is that the number combos always add up to 9. Like, a 1 is also an octave (8th) major 7th is minor 2, perfect 4th is perfect 5th, etc.
🤘🏼
Super simple yet effectlve tutorial you’ve made. Congratulations I’m gonna subscribe it. 666
Can you play this in drop?
Atonality is the sauce of life!
Correct me if I’m wrong but shouldn’t it be a Flat 2 not a minor 2?? I by no means claim to fully know what I’m talking about but I’ve always heard it referred too as the Flat 2
@Burnt_Gerbil

It’s either a major 2nd / minor 2nd or a 2 and a flat 2. In the end it’s the same notes. 😬
SMR FTW!!!!!
Chuggin' tritones are the best.
7-13 is an obnoxious stretch I can't get XD
Might spook the kitten back outside.
Gross hell, only to preppy Gucci lil' puppy wuzzit.(wuss).
7 13? 12 8

7 = B note (on the high e string [the thinner e string] 13 = C note (on the B string) ^Minor 2nd interval This combination is dissonant and does not feel resolved.
