HOW TO WRITE BETTER DRUM GROOVES | A non-drummers guide to writing awesome drum parts
Музыка
In this video I share my approach to writing drum grooves. In order to be able to write drum parts you need to have some idea of how drums work on a theoretical level. Which is why I establish four easy to understand principles in the beginning of the video, that I later use to write a drum part for a demo in Guitar Pro.
Let me know in the comments if these tips helped you out, or maybe you got some good tips you would like to share with me?

As a drummer I found it interesting...to hear what guitarists think drums should be

Hahaha I can understand. Nothing will replace a good drummer. I'll take programmed drums over a mediocre drummer any day though!
I see we have a similar approach (bass drums first, snare and toms, then cymbals and stuff). Humanizing has always been the hardest part for me.

It is also a tough one. In Cubase (which I use) there are a lot of features that makes it fairly easy and quick. For the album I did last year, I worked in Cubase 5 haha. And did all the drums by hand. I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN
