I love how you make the witch culture a bit more lighthearted and not the brooding rumour that most people think it is

I don’t know how I’ve been a Witch for 27 years and never known the term SecularWitch. I had to look it up. I had no idea. I think I will spend the next year familiarizing myself with this new idea you’ve shared with me. Not that I could convert to it myself, I would just like to explore it and develop a respect for it. I meet a lot of people that have an interest in witchcraft but no interest in the religious aspects that I know it to have. I had no idea there was a place for it and suddenly feel very unworldly. I suppose that would explain a lot about how there are so many new Practicioners. so interesting. It makes sense in that nature itself could draw a huge following. I know a Christian woman that asked me about performing spells and magic. I literally assumed this was off limits to Christians. I’ll have to rethink my ideas and beliefs about this. Thanks for sharing ✨

I love this video! So many of the points you made are exactly how I work as well. I love to spend a long time developing spells and magical workings to make them more powerful and long-lasting in effect. The internet is filled with fast witch tips for spells you can do in one minute or with one ingredient. I love that you take the longer view, with research and patience. (I also don't rhyme, and for the same reason.)

This was a fabulous post! Lots of great ideas to enhance my spells. One thing I make sure to do is not cast spells when I am mentally tired or emotionally drained or upset (unless it is a spell to remedy these things). I have always felt that it is so important to be mindful of your "space" before casting.

Thank you for the insight into writing spells. I include a lot of what you have said in to my castings. All of my spells are written in runic script.

I found your channel about a week ago and I've been trying to catch up on all the videos, lol! I love this one because I read a while back that writing your own spells and making your own sigils are more powerful because they are tailored for you. I would really love to learn more about sigils. While listening to your knowledge and all the different kinds of witch craft, I understand that I have been practicing some form of witchcraft since I was a child. I have studied it on and off for years, as well as Goddess devotion and other forms of spirituality, but I keep coming back to what I now understand as being a Green & Kitchen witch, plus study and use tarot, runes and astrology, plus many other forms, too numerous to go into. My entire house is filled with crystals, shells, candles and herbs!

I need a spell for my blood pressure, since a lot of things sets me off. I need a spell to protect myself from evil. And I need a spell for courage for public speaking. I don't want to look like a fool in front of people. 😨 And I definitely...I mean DEFINITELY need a spell for motivation because I procrastinate a lot.

Give the spell space to breathe and work it's mystery - YES. I don't like rhyming spells either. I do really like the "switch" words? Idk how people call these but thats how I had read about it. Say feeling sick or pain, I don't use spells or rituals since during that time those things would be too much, so switch or 'trigger' words such as relief are really helpful :D

@@Thewitchescookery Since I was a child, I was drawn to witch characters in books, TV shows, movies, music, and Halloween decorations. As a younger adult, I wondered if I was a witch, because I could perceive things that narcissists denied. I was eventually proven right. Now, I've realized how incredibly powerful I am. Narcissists are terrified of me. I don't even have to know that much about them. I can just sense them. I don't even need to say anything to them, just a look is all it takes to send them running. Anyone who intentionally hurts another person is a narcissist, and the Earth is infested with them. I am grateful to have this power, this born identity. It protects me from harm, and I use it to protect others from harm. I'm a healer, as well, imparting my wisdom and using my empathy on others. When I see into another person's soul and mind, narcissist or not, I can accurately predict their future, so in that way, I am psychic. I have been told many times that I am an inspiration, so in that way, I affect others' futures. People who are neither narcissists nor empaths, who have witnessed my abilities, have called me a witch, which only validates my belief. It's really, really, REALLY cool to be a Witch.🤘

Hello! I searched ‘how to do spells for beginners’ and this came up. I decided I want to try different spells, me and my friend can do spells but only his work I cant do real spells. Hopefully this helps. I’m going to watch and yeah.

Settling in to enjoy and learn!! Commenting as I go, as always :) .... Totally agree, I feel as I spend a few days or sometimes longer formulating / researching etc. a spell or ritual, the energy towards that spell or ritual begins building from that moment. Yessssss honey, yesss! I love that mention the mundane tasks YOU NEED TO DO to make that spell happen! Spells truly aren't genie's in a bottle lol. He and Jenna are no longer together heehee, but honey, you're competing with a few of us witch's for him lol :P, I think in a lot of ways 'mundane actions' take on magickal actions as they become extensions of the spell workings we originally cast... does that make sense? Not always easy to explain what's in my mind 🤪 ---- LOVE that you bring up that correspondences are going to be influenced by other factors, not enough channels state this and it's sooo important!! --- it can also be affected by your own personal or (have to go there, cuz it's me) dosha, especially for things like colour, and of course our own energy level / vibrations affect crystals more than anything else. Love love love the details you provide, it's why I always recommend you! (PS Love the background!!) --- You know I'm right on board with combining science and magick (girl you didn't watch my 5 tips video, lol, I mention it there, but I love you so I forgive ;P) especially where herbs are involved. As I always say, the herbal actions doesn't turn off because you're doing a working for magickal purposes :D... --- CAN'T WAIT FOR THE FOOOODDDDDD!! From what I have seen of your practice you really are a master in putting in all the effort and making your rituals and spells very elaborate and I can imagine that they do hold so much power :) And yeeees, I feel I had to mention the mundane tasks, as I feel that a lot of beginners have that missconception of magick working just like in the books and they do not have to do anything. And it really is the basis of witchcraft, to know how it works and how it won´t work 😁 I think gather thyme once did a really good video on correspondences and what influences them but yes, you are right, it doesn´t get mentioned enough! I did watch your tips video and loved it! When I paint intuitively, often an image will come out that means something about my future, current state of being, questions that I have, or situation. It is always very positive, like it shows the outcome. The growth. The lesson. (like crazy positive, it always moves me). When I start out, I do not know what it will become, and do not know the meaning. But as I go, it slowly starts dawning on me. I start having insights. And when I do, my being and mind automatically start to work 'with it' in tandem and it becomes intentional energy being directed. Would you also call this a spell? Or does this have a different name? I think painting sometimes becomes like precognition and/or deeper knowledge about myself, the energic nature of things, deeper meaning, widening wisdom, etc, as it develops. And then when it becomes the 'image', I start understanding it on a human level because I can visually see it. And then when I do, I can start putting my intentional energy toward the positive vision. What is something like that called? You are starting to make me realize painting really is a form of magic too. And I can start allowing myself to know that without telling myself I am crazy. I have always been 'witchy' :) as you call it, but never ever looked into it deeper than just knowing it internally. I never gave it the name. I only just started reading about it now, about two weeks ago. Listening to your video made me love painting again. I suddenly see its magic

I think the language is important because you might not understand what you are saying or could pronounce something wrong and the whole spell would change meanings.

I have so many questions about herbalism, are all herbs the same, what I mean is where they are grown, say a dandelion , one grown in Canada (my hometown) and one grown in your home town, would they be equal to use to work with. Focus on what you want, you can’t be thinking on many things when doing a spell.

If you have written a spell for yourself can you use the same exactly spell for other people for example : I make a spell for self confidence can I use that one too for someone else if I just change like for example the pronouns like I becomes them?
