Your first 5 minutes were about me! I dream books, ever since I was a child. I have a backlog of ideas waiting. I’m re-editing one I am sure will be ready this year. I’ve self published a few children’s books and 3 adult, so far. I’m looking to go the traditional route now, with this current one. You’re advice is very good. Thank you for sharing. Especially the “put it away” advice.

I’m always happy to connect with fellow storytellers and motivate them to keep going ☺️ I’m actually editing my novel right now and would love to be able to traditionally publish it as well, so it looks like we’re in the same boat! ☺️ The “put it away” method has done wonders for my story. I hope it helps you too. Best of luck with your novel and all of your future projects ☺️

@@VirtualBooklore Thank you for your encouraging words! I had the "put away' imposed on me during the pandemic. Coming back to it did result in a cull of words, in epic proportions! It also highlighted where I was bored, re-reading it! I'm now trying a different angle for the opening and other chapters. The traditional route does seem very complicated. My naivety in all processes was a bit of a shock, but I am learning and trying to stay focussed, not overwhelmed. With a bit of luck, I shall be reading your work before mine, as you seem much more advanced in your knowledge. All the best! 😀

Very interesting video with lots of good information. If you are looking for further topics you could do one(s) on Beta Readers, Critique Groups, and Sensitivity Readers.

Thank you for tuning in and for sharing some video ideas! ☺️ I will most likely be looking for some beta readers/sensitivity readers as soon as I finish my own novel and I’ll definitely film a video all about my experience.

LOL, "age doesn't mean a thing" and all your examples are 30-somethings. Wow, way to encourage us old geezers that are twice that age! Otherwise. excellent tips! Thank you.

I mention Andrzej Sapkowski who started writing later in life and is 75 now and still writing, so there truly is no age limit when it comes to starting a writing career ☺️

Actually, from looking at the files in the directory, I started it back in early 2015, so I started in my sixties. (I know this cause I keep version-sequential copies of the book; I think I'm at save version 2000 or something, now, counting two counting resets.) It's changed... a lot. Currently at around 148,000 words. I'm learning as I go.
