How to wrap a japanese Obi belt

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

You can see how to tie an Obi belt around your waist easily in our video.
These long cloth sashes are ideal for wearing Japanese scabbards at the waist. The inspiration for those in our offer are the traditional Japanese Kaku Obi belts and Samurai Uwa-Obi.
The length of the belt is 4 meters and the width is about 9 to 10 cm. They are available in two colours - natural light and black.
Our natural light Obi is sewn from three layers of linen. The black Obi has two layers of cotton inside and two layers of silk on the outside.
Big thanks to @hakuzandojo for collaboration.

I have to be honest... I've always found this method to be terrible for use with kenjutsu, iaijutsu, and martial arts in general, for a variety of reasons. It doesn't hold well at all, in my experience, and for those that practice more than just iaido... being thrown and landing on a knot that bulky is... no picnic. 8-/

We know there are better tying styles, but if someone is starting out this is suitable, those who know better don't need this guide :-)

@fakesteelarmory The method you've illustrated is arguably more complex than methods that are superior in terms of historicity, aesthetics, and functionality. If you made this video to educate, why wouldn't you want to provide the best education possible? And if you didn't make it to educate... Why did you make it, at all? EDIT: I'm not trying to cut anyone down, here- I just take education very seriously. 👍👍

@@TheShurikenZoneThis binding was demonstrated by an apprentice of the Czech Hakuzan Dojo in Prague. It's a great Dojó we work with, we wanted to demonstrate their style of tying.
