I want to also mention, during iftar, DO NOT fill your stomach and act like it's a buffet. A few bites to straighten your back, or 1/3 of your stomach for food, 1/3 for water and the other 1/3 for air. Fasting is to build discipline and heighten your imaan. If you're filling your stomach, you become arrogant and attain bad habits, and the prophet (pbuh) warned us severely against being gluttonous.

@user-ye3sz1nh8u personally I dont want to waste the night time in training. I'd rather do ibadah. I would train fasted before iftaar. Not hour long but maybe 20-30 minutes before. Doing a circuit and taking it very easy. You don't want to push it hard to failure but still train somewhat hard. Then right after, break your fast. Make sure to do a very thorough warm up, you defo don't want to be injured.

@@OmegaKatanaXIII Not only is it bad for the self and soul, It's also people eating the share of the poor and hungry. How evil is it to eat the food of the orphans and widows. There is a vile sickness In Afghan culture with the middle and wealthy class, where people cook way too much, pile a food mountain on their plates, then they complain of having acid reflux. All they eat is rice, meat, dumplings, fried eggplants, barely any salad, and wash it all down with sewer soft drinks - no wonder. Take heed to the sunnah, there is no better way.

@zoomermcboomer4771 it all depends on intention. Training is ibadah if your intention is to do it to, for example, defend Muslims and the ummah etc.

My personal breakdown for food and workouts during Ramadan is as follows. Suhur: Electrolyte beverage, cucumber or melon, 200 calories of lean turkey meat or eggs (lately as a wrap sandwich, egg white wrap, with turkey slices and spinach inside), Greek yogurt and then a protein shake. And as much water as I can handle till fajir making sure I don't over stuff myself. Total calories 600-800. Iftar: soup, whatever my wife cooked (trying not to over eat) electrolyte Bev. That's another 1000-1200 calories. I pray maghrib at home. I pray Isha and 8 rakat of taraweeh at the masjid (drinking water in between every 2 rakat). When I get back from salah. I have a 1-2 hr weight lifting workout 3-4 days a week and 1-2 cardio days a week. I shower, read a bit of quran and go to bed at 1am. Obviously there will be some snacks here and there. But I try to maintain below 2500 calories that way I overall burn excess fat I've built through the year and start the next year off strong. Been having this routine for 4 years very nice to hear brother Bobby recommend it. May Allah accept our fast and Duah. And may we all come out better Muslims than we entered in this blessed month. Please keep our brothers and sister in 🍉 in your prayers. May Allah protect them, and accept the shuhadah. And please keep Masjid Al-Aqsa in your prayers as well. JAK

It's acutally really nice having a muslim fitness person talking about how to deal with this during fitness. All my previous ramadans, i've struggled with knowing what to do and if I was consistent before ramadan, i lose that consistency because I usually lose all my habits in ramadan.

Personally, I dont wanna spend my time training in the night while i can spend it doing ibadah. Plus the time between maghrib and Isha is usually pretty short so factoring in, travelling and showering etc, there isnt much time. - I train fasted, just before Maghrib for about 20-30 minutes of a circuit training 3-4 rounds depending on how i feel. - e.g. Pullups x 10 Pushups x 20 Squats x 30 Ab crunches x 20 Bicep curls x 20 REST [Repeat 3X] - Do not go to failure, or go heavy, just train somewhat hard and have as much rest as you need between sets. - It is essential when fasted, to have a throrough warm-up routine before training, perhaps 2-3 warm up rounds before the working sets. - Break your fast as Bobby said in the video. I personally drink himlayan Pink salt with water and some dates. I have a quick cold shower and pray maghrib. - Lastly... listen to your body! If you feel like something feels off or you feel lightheaded, then slow down or just stop and leave it for another day. Remember, just as bobby said, this is not the time to push yourself to improve, it's the month of ibaadah and remembering Allah. May Allah aid everyone in this month and forgive our sins Ameen.

I'm a bit late to this but I actually continued bulking during ramadan, I worked out after taraweeh at around 12am, and during the day I fasted and I ate all my macros between iftar until fajr. I followed "if it fits your macros" philosophy where I don't properly track my macros other than making sure the protein amount was right each day. I was sceptical but it actually worked quite well in my opinion but I am not as heavily trained aa you are.
