I used to feel neutral about maths- now love it (loving maths somehow also made me love science) and I now want to aim for more and become a dentist. Or maybe an oral surgeon? Not sure yet, but along that route. This is all because of you, legend.

I'm returning to university for the third time. This time I'm doing a PGCE and they wouldn't accept my maths qualification, so I'm having to take GCSE. To be honest, I had forgotten almost everything I learnt in school. Anyway, I signed up with an online learning provider to tutor me. Despite it costing quite a bit of money, I almost completely abandoned that course because these KZread lessons are far better. I've progressed much more quickly by following this channel than I did using online tuition. The only thing the online provider really helped with was giving me lots of worksheets and things to go through. The actual teaching was nowhere near as good as this KZread channel.

at 21:21 isn't the mode 9 because 9 is twice in the frequency section and 11 is only shown once?

Its not like that. The reason he said 11 was because most of the people that reach work is in that time period and the two 9s are two different time periods. I hope this belped

@4:56 @The GCSE Maths Tutor Wouldn’t the mean be 30 pins on average because you cannot have 0.2 of a pin. Sorry if I’m wrong. Also would i get a mark for that in an exam for just saying 30.2 or would 30 pins be the correct mean ?

30.2 is the answer, unless specified to round you don’t do so, unless of course it is about context when looking at ‘how many tins of paint’ to buy etc! 😁🙏🏼

20:20 Will we ever need to work out the exact median? My teacher told us we'd have to use the lower bound or smth to get the exact value or was that just my teacher going off the spec?

Not from a table if you are asked for the “median class interval” but you could be asked to find the exact median, this comes up sometimes within Histograms so I’ll get a video up for that ASAP! 😁

It's just the class with the biggest frequency. So obviously here out of: 2, 8, 9, 7 and 4, our biggest frequency, a.k.a our most common, is 9.

So the modal number here is how much it's value is. Yes, modal does mean frequent as he said, however in this case it would be the biggest number or the number with the highest value. Hope that helped

In my opinion, he sounds like he just isnt up for it or to be honest sounds boring.. theres not much explanation of how to do it, its just showing what questions there are without further depth

you just arent paying attention. he explains it really well and fully goes in depth on how to do these problems, not to mention his videos are completely free, so stop complaining and actually focus when hes explaining, it all just depends on your mentality and how willing you are to work hard.

his videos do really helped me i went from 1 to a 3 coz i was dumb ,think of time and dedication he puts in the videos its a great channel, and i extremely admire him for these vids notherwise i wouldve flopped, at the end of the day there is no need to be rude and ungrateful.

I apologise for this, and looking back what I said a year ago is my fault. The videos are packed with exam-style questions and examples it does really come to a great help when looking for this kind of practise with answered explanations as well. I'm just reminded that if I want or need to study, I have to be correctly minded about having the chance to be shown these worked examples, as they're supposed to help me.
