Jordy that’s a nice gnome,I like to do them once in a while and give them a red tinge on their nose makes them a little snapped up looking
I have not cleaned the wood first and it has bit me in the butt but we learn by doing thanks be safe

Well it’s your fault I started carving. I build lots of stuff but carving is new. I’m looking to get a battery powered saw. I have a weight limit.

Jordy, I'm trying to carve a cleaned up log and its the weirdest thing I've ever seen. At top I drew my center line and started to carve. The right side held detail perfectly but the left side is fuzzy and the detail is horrible. It didnt start out like that but the more depth the fuzzy one side got. Kinda discouraging.

did you end up trying the Behr brand spar urethane?
I think on the back, you should carve a rip, have his butt cheeks with crack in the middle exposed, would explain his smile! Thanks Jordy.
