I understand that this video probably seemed very rudimentary to a lot of folks, but I'm a real electrical dunce!!🤣 Thank you for explaining this system in a way that even I could comprehend it!😃

That is exactly what I was thinking too. I’ve watched a few of these 12v vids, this is the first one that I actually understood. 🎉
Almost nobody shows the negative bus bar. This video is exactly what I needed, thanks!
My God man you have made this so simple, I’ve looked inside my console to see what was there and had no idea about a busbar, it all clear now, thanks so much

Great video. Any chance you can do a video on hooking up a switch panel to a Progressive Dynamic converter panel. I have both and just need a push on exact hook up.
Great video. Is there a way of using one of the toggle switches on the panel to turn the whole panel off? I don't really want a separate switch
It needs a fuse next to the battery on that feed wire to the switch panel to cover the circuit upto the individual switched circuits
I'm a bit new to all this stuff for rvs and little by little I'm trying to upgrade my old rv electrical including with solar on a budget. my main current is I'm hoping I can clean up te wires at the battery. can I run a buss bar bur and both positive and negative side of the battery The battery current has all charging sources including a 12 volt fuse box that has all hots and all grounds which I'm lost because all the grounds are not connected at the fuse box however it has a negative main lead that's currently getting power I think form an older bus bar that has several negative leads going to i don't know where at the moment. Originally, i was only going to run a thicker ground between the fuse box to the bus bar thing as I hadn't figured out the negative wire run form the battery to that bus bar. Im bow wondering if I should remove that bus bar negative and should run it directly to the fuse box negatives and rund the main negative directly to the battery. on the battery side if the wires I was planing to add a second bus bar from the 12 volt fuse box on both positive and negatives with the alternator, battery, generator, and soalr panel controller. not surr if you follow my writing as I suck at 😂
So when I go to buy “one of these little clips” there is no such thing. And that crimp tool, again no name. And again;”I’m going to use another of these little-these are quite handy….” What? But really great presentation and thank you despite my minor complaints. Subscribed.

how about a light accessory that come from wiring harness and relays ?
👍
If you wanted multiple lights connected that had there own switch would you then use a positive bus bar to connect the multiple posssative connections allowing you to power on and off the current
@MrMeltedwellies
10 ай бұрын
yes you could
As it has fuses dose that mean i can do away with the fuse box
Why does each individual switch have a fuse? Wouldn’t it be easier to hook up a fuse box to the battery and run the switches between the load and the fuse box?
Hi Mark thanks for another informative video. Do you have a link for the spotlight shown in the video?

If your connected direct to the battery how much power does it use whilst only showing the voltage reading? I’m thinking of fitting an isolator switch between the 2?
@joesalemi2414

I think he was just demonstrating the bus bar and switch box but the isolated switch that turns off the whole system is recommended.
hello! i have the same switch panel for the van conversion. I would like to connect to the panel lights, water pump, turbovent fan and maybe a compressor fridge. Maybe all together would reach around 13ah, do I have to change the cables of the panel? (because 1,5mm is very little) or maybe is better to connect the fridge apart? thank you very much

You have just answered your own question same setup as mine fridge separate works great thanks very much for watching and question ATB
Dought you still read the posts but maybe someone can help me out here I bought a 6 switch panel it has 3 in-line fuses hooked up to accy plug, outage reader, usb plugs, hoping I d done correctly. I cut out the online fuses cause I’m running those 3 into a fuse panel, I also soldered the accy plug/usb plug together they both go to positive, won’t ever be running both together, if I plug spot light into accy plug there won’t be anything in usb Plug. Now I’m left with the following wires: *Black-labeled goes to negative side of battery *Yellow-labeled goes to negative side of battery *Blue-positive side of battery *red- tfhe I line fuses I wired together to hv 1 red wire Middle plug is voltage running also positive but seperate by itself as to get good voltage reading. I am running all wires to a fuse block panel, Red wire from positive side of battery, to bottom of fuse panel *black wire from negative side of battery to top of fuse panel, all black wires From my acts will bolt o to beg side of fuse panel, rest of red wires will run to slots in fuse panel. I got this correct, don’t I? A y help greatly appreciated
I have a stupid question, yet a question that has been bugging me for weeks nonetheless: If you have a negative buss-bar with all of your negatives hooked up, including your negative from your battery, does the buss-bar need to have a direct line to the chassis for a ground? Or is there a ground running from the battery itself to the chassis? Thank you in advance
@MrMeltedwellies

just battery , i fitted one it a fiberglass boat so no chassis so just busbar hope this helps ATB
Could you do this with a power inverter as well? for example I have 125V Shore power connector in my vehicle, but i need 12v to power the lights and water pump, can i use a power inverter and connect my power wire to the power wire on the inverter and the buss bar all the grounds?

Just get an auxbeam switch panel
I still have no clue how to do this. 😢😢
The only thing i dont like about these switch panels is that all of your power for everything comes in through that one single power wire. Depending on what devices you're powering, things could get very hot and firey quickly. Mightnt be a bad idea to use each switch to power a relay instead or rewire each switch to take power individually, maybe from a positive bus bar instead. I know this is a basics video, just some thoughts 👍🏻😀

Would 3 LED light bars drawing 72 watts each get firey?
@JohnnyDub16

@@mlaue Depends how you're wiring it. They would draw 6 amps each. So wired together drawing 18amps, technically you could just use a big enough switch amd big enough wiring on a 20/25amp fuse and no relay.
