Best how to wire relay I've found. Thank you. The led drl's I installed on my 2007 Toyota Tundra caused me problems after 5 years. They came with a harness and tapped into the acc and headlight + so they would come on when the truck was started. I've decided to wire them to a switch in the cab so I can turn them on and off as I choose. I have to figure out which wires are which coming off of the harness. That shouldn't be too difficult. I already have the switch. Just need to get the relay and in line fuse. Thank you. I look forward to future how to videos.

I'm glad you found the video useful, thanks for watching and I wish you luck with your install! Keep in mind that some Toyota's use a "positive ground" setup for their lights. This meaning they don't use the positive wire on the switch, they use the ground on the switch and the power is on all the time. Some quick probing around with a multi-meter will tell you if yours is wired like this.

@@RockyXTV I am building a system for a guy. It's a surround sound system to be used outdoors at a drive in theater. He only wanted one switch, and the switch was rated at only 5A. I knew it would not be enough, especially since I am installing a huge 2.1 amp, and a voltage booster, that will power the amp at 48 volts. I used a 12 volt, 40 A relay. Your video was perfect. If you get a chance, check out my channel. I will definitely be watching more of your videos.

@@strokertwo1 If running multiple things off of a single relay just be sure you don't go over 30 Amps. You really only need one fuse on the line going from Pin 30 to your battery. As for fuse size, that can be calculated pretty easily using this simple formula. Watts divided by Volts equals Amps. Example; you have 3 lights that are 55 Watts each, 55 X 3 = 165. 165W/12.5V=13.2A. In this example you would want to run a 15A fuse. I hope this info helps you out and thanks for watching!

Hooked up a set of l.e.d. running lights to my harley road glide. After a near nuclear explosion and going crazy I found your video. Thanks to you I have nice set of fork mounted lights that look good and no melted wires or blown fuses or hot as F##$ resisters.

Simplest explanation ever thank you

I watched a few of these now and thanks, I really understood yours. Just a question though, the switch is not grounded, it is a positive + across the pins and through to the relay.

That's easier than I thought i was stuck on figuring how to wire up a fuel pump but instead of i switch I'm using a power signal from ecu 👍
