In this video I show how to rewind a starter pull cord recoil spring on a Yard Pro 130A trimmer, and place the spring back its housing. The only tool you need to rewind the spring and get it back into its housing is a large zip tie.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks..I have the Baird-poulan weed eater version think it is xr-100. You saved me from throwing away a piece of history. My coil didn't wind up as neat as yours but it did work for doing this for the first time. Works like a champ now.
Thank you. Perplexed by how to fit this and yes other methods on KZread but seemed to make task harder. Yours worked!!!!!! Fitted and rip cord returning as it should.
I never had any luck doing this. I will try this method. Thanks
Thank you! just fixed the pull starter on my string trimmer with your help!

jkwo2007 Thanks for watching!
I like how newer stuff has a metal cover to hold that spring together, I've had to take some out before because that hook on the end broke so I had to heat it up and rebend it, but you gotta be careful with them cause they will definitely take an eye out.
Thank you so much video helped with putting spring back into my concrete vibrating screed

Thanks
I've had to deal with manuals that must've been translated by a overseas worker with a sense of humor. But with a good eye for things and alot of cussin I get things done. Good vid. Always wondered what was hiding in those gas trimmers.
Excellent video. I have watched four and yours is the only one that deals with which way to position the spring. You would think that you have a fifty-fifty chance of getting it in the right way so that it will rewind the starter rope, but with Murphy's Law I'd say it is about 99-1 against you. Good job!

In my shop class I may have wrecked the pullstart on a weed-eater and had to take the whole recoil apart, quite frustrating to put back together but this video looks very helpful.

@Sal R, Glad it helped! Does anyone know why some comments don't have the reply link, so I can reply to the comment? I noticed the comments say LINKED COMMENT, but I don't know how to reply to them.
QUE LONGITUD TIENE EL RESORTE DE LA POLEA DE ARRANQUE DE UNA MOTOGUADAÑA
My snapper pull cord broke and the part that cord wraps around came apart how do I reassemble
Don't try this with a larger spring, for example a push mower recoil starter spring. You will cut your fingers not to mention holding it in place once it starts to get small......even this spring I doubt he did by hand
I can reply but I'm on a tablet so that's probley why
Throw that shit away and get a Husqvarna
