Thank you so much. A repairman told me it would cost $350 to repair my old Kenmore. I watched your video and found my part for under $20! Have to admit it took me a lot longer than you, but for a 62 yo woman with no repair experience, I am pretty pleased with myself. Couldn't have done it without your step by step video. Fabulous! So happy with the money I saved! Thanks again~
In most cases the igniter will short out and it will not glow. You can check it for continuity, it should have continuity and read between 50-400 ohms. If you are smelling gas you should turn off the gas until you figure out the problem.
You can go to our forum and describe what the dryer is doing and our techs will help you troubleshoot the problem. Thanks.
The first thing I would check is the thermal fuse, if it is bad the dryer will not heat. You can check it for continuity, if it does not have continuity it needs to be changed.
If the igniter is not getting power the first thing to check is the thermal fuse. You can do a simple continuity check to see if its good or bad. If it does not have continuity it needs to be changed.
Thank you for this video. It was the perfect guidance I needed.
I would check the igniter as I said in your other post.
This is a great video! Thanks for making it.
My dryer won’t heat all the time
Would I be able to put igniter from Amana dryer to a GE dryer would it be possible would it work?
My thermal fuse has continuity as well as the other thermostats, but my dryer still isnt heating, could this be faulty wiring? On the day it stopped heating I did smell something like an eletrical burn or short. Like a fuse burnong out.
welldone work............
my roper gas dryer heats for a little while then the heat stops. the dryer continues to spin/tumble. i've checked the continuity of the thermal fuse, the thermometers, gas valve coils, igniter, and flame sensor. anything i'm missing? could any of these components be failing even though it's continuity is fine? any help would be much appreciated!
How to find out what is wrong with the dryer, it is not drying
Help. Video for replace Whirlpool for Simpson sprit 450
Not difficult but you basically have to take the Dryer apart.. They don't make it easy.. At that rate you mys-well Vaccum it and replace the belt..My Older one had the (Base) access Panel....Just Pop it off ...Reach in Pry out the old one....Snap new one in the spring/clip...
My husband put in a new ignitor just like you showed him in this video so it went great, but the dryer is still not warming up. What do we do now? Thanks!
how do you know you need an new igniter? when you start smelling the gas?!?!?!
