1.6 mm could do the job.. as long as the amperage and technique is right it wont melt the weld piece

@@jasperdomacena6491sure it could “do the job” but this is just a line of tack welds. Get the right size rod and you’ll run one bead with better penetration. All a tack weld does is stick 2 pieces together, which is why they’re used to prevent workpieces from sliding with heat expansion.

If you want this technique to be it's strongest grind of the slag after each pause. Or use a smaller rod

Ok, the technique isn't right: the pauses between each drop can't be so long. You shouldn't wait until each drop cools down! And each drop must overlap half of the previous. The current would be higher, like 120A, and last less time in each one and and less time between them. Furthermore, this metal isn't so thin! Thin metal would be 1/28" (0,9mm). I can weld 1/28" thickness with this technique described!

Молодец... Обучаешь... Чуть добавлю: с зазором так не пройдет. Поэтому чем тоньше, тем плотнее детали друг к другу. Попробуйте присадку на особо тонком(дугу жгите на ней. Не на металле. Чуть сноровки и все будет у Вас гут.

Boa. Tens outro truque. Dá uma passada bem rapida como se fosse um cordao rapido para encher e depois de esfriar passar o cordao normal. Mas melhor que tudo é procurar eletrodo fino de pouca seccao e diminuir a amperagem.

First of all, thats not really "thin" metal. Second of all, your rod is too big. Third of all, that weld doesn't have much penetration. It looks good on top, but you start stessing that joint and it will break.

On your up stroke is it 1/8?

Buena estetica, pero en ese calibre no hace falta hacerlo asi . tal vez en laminas calibre 18 o 20 ...

2mm is quite thick actually. 0,7mm would pose more serious challange.

well it looks alright minus the big slag inclusions. It's alright to sequence your weld if your base metal is thin, but I would reccomend chipping off the slag in between
