With the sacrificial weight system I would like to understand how our bait works once the bottom is reached

Do you use sacrificial weights at night or always fish shallow for swords?

Are glow sticks any good???

What is the brand and model of this rod

Does having a weight on the hook change how you drop the bait down or is the same process?

Do you lose the weight every time you drop the line?

great video guys, thanks...if you have a leadball weight whats the window sash weight for? do you use both? or is this 2 different ways of doing the same thing?...I don't get it? thanks...

+Tom, The sash weight takes the bait to the bottom quickly, also avoiding any chance of wrapping around the leader. Once it hits bottom, it drops off sacrificially.

Hey guys we're looking to deep drop off central california. All of the studies from up here show our swords are no where near the bottom, is there a way to get the drop weight to come off without hitting bottom?

What is the problem if it hits the bottom? I also have some nice techniques to drop the bait down . I will try to upload my technique If I got chance to do sowrd fishing

I fished Marlin in Cabo and we never used or see those elaborate set ups.
