Will my jaw be messed up and not a symmetrical if i do this

How on earth would the canines not move if they are the anchors for the elastic? This method doesn't work as neatly as this graphic shows.

I got the same rubber position, but Is it okay if the rubber goes behind the teeth or it should always be in front of the teeth?

Update got Invisalign and have had rubber bands it's been fixing my asymmetric jaw

How long does this takes to correct the mid line?

Its preferable if you get them prescribed by an orthodontist but I was prescribed the 'southern bald eagle' elastics

Depends on your orthodontist. Its the third time I use brackets, so now I have to use light rubber bands to avoid a lot of pressure or forces in my teeth. My first threatment wasnt good, they never improve ny bite, I only used the brackets. The second treatment was a lot better however, it wasnt perfect, my molars and bite although I used rubber bands, didnt fit or even close. So this is the third and last time I will be using brackets, so far, Its going good, however in the second one I used heavy rubber bands, in this one I am using lights. In every treatment I had exams befor each one of them, but the first treatment was terrible for not correcting anythingabout my bite, not even using rubber bands when I have a class 3 problem
