It also helps when you go away for some length of time, is to get a cotton string (wick) to the bottom of your plant pot with a glass of water and the plant will "drink" the water through the wet wick as needed. Therefore, it will keep the soil moisture in the soil 😊.

Nice video. I have one too. I call it a smart plant. It lets me know exactly when to water it. As it droops. So so amazing. Then springs back from looking dead.

Just my opinion. I could never wait til my Peace lilly wilted to water it. I wait til the pot feels light but not bone dry and water her from the top in the sink and she's doing great. I'm happy your plant bounced back.💖🥰

ooooh! Thank you for this! We had a home KTV session at home with my rommies last night and turned on the aircon in full blast 😅 When I woke up this morning my peace lily's leaves and flower drooped. I think she got shocked by the sudden change of the environment's temperature. I'll follow this method. Thank you so much!

Hey Michelita same happened with mine with the AC. I was reading more about it and peace lilies are a tropical plant and like humidity. It seems like the AC is drying out the air making the peace lily more droopy. I put the plant in a more humid room and it’s slowly bouncing back yay

OH MY GOD, it worked. I sat mine in a bowl and filled it with water and left home and when I returned, the water was gone and the plant was standing upright. I just got it last week and it is in a darker room and I assumed it needed light. I felt the soil and it seemed moist. I guess I dont know what moist is. It felt damp to ME but apparently it wasnt.

I have switched most of my plants over to Lechuza pots. They use a special kind of PON and have a water reservoir. I usually only have to fill that up once every 3 weeks and the plant gets its water from there. Very little risk of over-watering that way. When I was on vacation, I had forgotten to tell my friend, that the peace lily was in the living room and not in the kitchen with all the other plants. When I got home, I really thought it was completely dead. All leaves were dried out and laying flat on the floor. 6 years later, my beautiful plant is still thriving and healthy as can be! They are soo resilient 😃

Great video! I'd recommend a cheap tripod so that you can film yourself while working with the plant.

I found that giving my lily a bigger pot it didn't do this as often. Before I had a bigger pot it was like this almost every other day. It seems to be consuming water too quick just like mine did. They are some thirsty plants though.😆🤣

It's probably time to transplant. Mine was doing the same and when I pulled the plant out of the pot there was an inch of dirt and the rest was roots. I am currently growing it in water, it's quite happy and getting it's water roots

Hi Liquidamber, need help. I have a 7 year old Peace Lilly. Not only does it have brown tips but it has brown edges as well. Do not understand why. I do not let it wilt, I keep the soil moist. The soil is not packed down, drains very well, holds the moisture. I water it with filtered water that has sat for 2 days, so I don't think it's chemical burn and I mist it everyday as the humidity here is sometimes low in Autumn (30%). Does get direct sunlight but windows are polarized. Use Job fertilizer spicks, half dose once a month except in Autumn & Winter. Do I need a humidifier? Thanks & cheers!

Water mine once a week. They do better inside,in the ac. Do great with led plant light or florescent light.

I've just killed 2 peace lilies in the span of 1 month, 1st one because of underwatering in 1 week and 2nd one, lasted a bit longer, from overwatering, I used this exact method on both. They're not as resilient as my pothos, 3 years growing strong and bushy.

Thanks for the video, my lily is pretty bad... but I watered her from the top and then I found your vid, so I watered from the bottom as well and I'm monitoring her... will give you an update tomorrow... but thanks for the video

I re ported my peace lily. It was completely fine afterwards and looked beautiful for 2 days now It is very droopy/sad and my moisture meter doesn't read dry. I am afraid to water it. Do I let it adjust, is it in a state of shock and will bounce back?? What should I do??

My peace lily hasn’t dropped fully but it just started to (the bud itself is droopy) and only one of its leaf is yellow coloured and kinda dead but others look healthy (but droopy) what could be the problem. I don’t think i overwatered because I just got like 3 days ago? :)

I was given 2 very big PLs form a friend's funeral actually, anyway, I have been working all week, they were druppy, so I watered them, I will check for root bound and also, i think i need to cut some blooms off that are browning, i was wondering if I should cut some of the larger leaves off, maybe at the bottom? Would u think to do that or should I just leave it alone? I realize u can't c these plants, But the leaves r very big, its hard for me to no what to do because they r so big, anyway i subscribed and liked your video, thank u, very informative 👍 😊

Maybe watering too much and giving too much direct sunlight! Try watering only when they begin wilting and keep indoors

So, I’m looking for videos on this plant....and i think I did water the crown...I think u called it! What do I Do? I’ve noticed my leaves coming up with black stems. I’m so worried! And yes, the middle feels very wet and smells....please help! Thank you so much!

My peace Lilly likes the heater on & spray them with water or if you take hot showers they love humidity . I water mine once a week. Soak in bottle of water.

My question is how much water are you using is that about maybe two cups because I never get enough water that's why my peace lily droops has drooped on me three to four times and then after I water it it revives itself back up so how much water total is needed because I can't never figure out how much 😊

Arnee P 👋 hi! I good way to tell which is the case is by looking at and/or touching the soil. If the soil is super moist and the lily is dropping and giving you yellow and brown leaves, it’s most likely an overwatering issue. If it’s drooping and sad and the soil is dry, you need to give it a drink. Hope this helps!

I cut stiff cardboard into stakes and stick them in the soil. If it is to wet the cardboard gets wet above the potting soil.

@@ishaduranxo ​ Hi Isha Duran. Putting in my 2 cents as I've been thru this before. Do you have any greenery left or is it completely yellow? Do you have a drainage hole in your pot? If no drainage hole you'll need to drill a hole in the bottom. If you have any greenery left, pull the plant out of the pot and separate the rotten bits from the healthy tissue. Drill your hole if there isn't one, then repot with fresh potting soil. I would mix 1 part pearlite or vermiculite with 2 parts soil to keep the soil from packing down. Wait to water sense overwatering is a problem. If it looks like it's beginning to droop water it until the water runs through the drain hole. You'll know when it's time to water again when the top of the soil feels dry but don't let the plant droop. I think that will fix the overwatering. If the plant is completely yellow, I'd get another plant and try again. It's likely dead.

@@ishaduranxo Also, I use a chopstick. The wood will tell you if the soil is wet or not. I use mine just for the Peace Lilly ONLY as to not transmit disease or pests.

Wow what a difference!

My peacelily leaves are turning brown. It was first in my bedroom on a nightstand. Was getting light but not direct sunlight. It’s leaves were turning brown. I brought it to my living room. Still turning brown. Whats the problem? What should I do? I keep cutting the leaves and i’m loosing most of them.

Myb getting just light its not enough.. try to put it in bright indirect sunlight water adequately or u just hve to chnge the soil n repot it.. u can see so much method to deal with this kind of problem in this utube.. i got my peace lily in bright indirect sunlight but im suprise the stem n leaves start to inclined towards the sun meaning they luv the sun though.. so u hve to experiment it....

It really varies depending on size, humidity, location, and direction-facing windows. I would wait till it gets a little wilted to water it. I water mine like every other week. Peace lilies root rot easily.

I just put em in a water vast. No watering or maintenance.

If after 24 hours it’s still not completely back up right, should I repeat the water process?

Asking the same question. Normally when I water it, it perks back up but this time and last time I watered it, it didn't. The soil also seems still moist/damp to me when I put my finger in the soil but the top part is dry. I'm a newbie so I don't know what to do

I bought one for my wife as a present - thought i was doing the right thing by giving it a little plant food - two days later total drooping disaster, mine now looks like yours - droopey overwatered, soggy soil, so ive removed it to another pot, new soil and a little water to kick start it will let you know in ten days or so what happens its looking so sad right now tho fingers crossed

I have all my peace lillys in pots with no drainage. My biggest one been in a non drainable pot for a year now, just water a lot less. Peace lillys are really hard to kill unless you completely neglect them. Just pay attention to it, they will show you when they need water. If they arent slightly wilted then you do not need to water. Wait until they look thirsty. But not drastically like the lady in the video

From experience if the leaves are wilted but still green there's a good chance it needs more water and if the leaves start to brown then yeah it's been over watered.

@@arindasleeze I'm no expert 😂 but with my lily I notice that at times when new leaves seem to be coming in she'll rid herself of old leaves. Pothos and dieffenbachias seem to do the same also.
