Hey Guys!
A lot has changed in how I wash my natural hair! My hair can get really dry and because it's longer, and older, needs a bit more care. Check out how I use my homemade hair products such as, ACV Rinse, Mayo Deep Conditioner, Homemade Mud Clay Wash, Homemade Hair and body oil, the Trader Joes Tea Tree Tingle conditioner, and aloe vera juice! I hope this helps!

I am so thankful for your channel!! A year ago my family adopted a 14 yr old sister for us from Columbia in South America and since we all had relatively straight and fine hair, I knew I needed to find better ways to help her take care of her hair (nobody ever taught her how) so up until now I'd been buying her Shea Moisture brand because I didn't know what else I could do, and a coworker told me it was good for natural hair. The techniques you show are so helpful...I had no clue! I don't know if she's open to trying organic hair washes like this (although I am), but I plan on showing her these videos as soon as possible. She loves her long hair, and it got so tangled these last few days (she's been too sick to care for herself) that she thought we would cut it off like her foster mom did, and I would do anything for this girl so I spent a couple hrs carefully detangling it instead. Your videos will help so much!!

I know this is an older video but I noticed such a big difference in my scalp and my hair. I didn't have the hair mud but I had everything else and I was able to give my scalp relief from buildup. This is going to be my new hair care routine.

***** Hey Whitney!! I just finished doing this method and seriously, WOW!!!!!! My hair has never been this soft and manageable on wash day. The ACV rinse along with the Mayo DC did wonders in strengthen my hair [way less fall out than usual]. I also noticed that my curls were perfectly detangled and was actually hanging down instead of sticking up while wet. Oh, the oil under the water is such a great idea to seal in all the moisture without a greasy mess on everything you rest your head on! Oh Whitney, yet again you manage to save me from my own mistakes. You have no idea how thankful I am for you being here. Thank you so much

I just tried your natural hair wash method. And I love it, my hair feels just as clean as when I use shampoo. This is my new wash method from now on, my hair has never felt so soft and moisturized after washing. I usually have to use a good amount of leave in conditioner and oil. Thanks Whitney!!!

Let me first say thank you, thank you, thank you for showing me to section the hair before washing. This technique alone has save me a ton of grief detangling my daughters hair. This time around I tried your entire washing routine (minus a few ingredients, but I'll get there) on her hair and what a difference in the feeling. Very moist, soft and manageable. I'm never happy doing her hair and she isn't either, but this time we both enjoyed the process!

Not sure if you're already doing this, but you might actually need to turn off the water while you're shampooing. I wash in sections and I turn the water off and on as needed, otherwise my hot water would probably run out halfway through.

I definitely have a preference for colder showers during the summer months, but not running water (even during the summer) is just as much about conservation as it is about saving the hot water for when I really need it (my house gets REALLY cold come winter). I do think that rinsing conditioner with cold water helps close the cuticle though.

I just want to thank you for all of these videos. Of all the youtubing and googling I have done these past (several) weeks you have been the most helpful by far. I've already started using the hair and body oil and really really like it. Some sections of my hair have an extremely tight, distinct curl pattern and others are just fuzz central. So seeing someone with such thick kinky hair (with a husband and a baby) who is managing such fantastic hair care is a real encouragement :)

I've recently decided to go natural, and am currently going on my 6th month during my transition. I have had nothing but braids so far the entire time, and washing my hair yesterday was the biggest battle I've ever had. Probably should have looked for this video BEFORE washing my hair, maybe then the detangling wouldn't have been a painful nightmare. Definitely remembering to try this out.

I've said this before but (to me) your videos are EXTRA enjoyable because they are concise, clear and to the point. You don't blab on and on in a semi dark bathroom. Yes, it does really cleanse your hair and scalp. ACV helps balance pH levels which kills and discourage fungi from growing. The ACV rinse/wash is actually one of the recommended for treatment for fungus.

OMG *****, I think you just saved my hair tonight! My hair went from dry, almost damaged feeling to soft, clumped and plumped! You da boss girl! My only concern is if my hair will dry all the way through tonight, or if this regimen is better reserved for in the daytime (on a weekend) so my hair can air dry completely before I take it out during the weekday. But either way I am so so overjoyed with how my hair felt! Thank youuuu!

I have to say that I tried this routine again for the second time ( I used conditioner instead of the clay wash, though) and I have never had such success with cleansing and detangling my hair as I have with this. I just recently went all natural after having a perm for as long as I can remember. I was starting to regret the decision because I had no idea how to take care of my natural hair. By the time I got to this video my hair was "hay" dry and fizzy and I hated it. I followed the instructions in this video step my step. I LOVE MY HAIR NOW. I know it's going to take regular maintenance to get it where it will be totally healthy but with just one wash what a difference. I highly encourage others to try it.

Love the fact that you explain the importance of having sharp cleaned nails before the wash... now I even remove the nail polish because for some reason while I shower, the nail polish chips and get stuck on my hair, sometimes even cut it (I need a good DIY nail tutorial) lol...

That's what I did. Cool. the mayo makes the hair soft/curly and ACV can also get rid of dandruff as well.

If you put the acv in a spray bottle it really helps make it easier to put on the scalp without the mess, and it might help with the aloe vera juice as well.

Literally watched this video about 3 days before I washed my hair, and now I have to come back just to say THANK YOU! I usually just wash my hair as is (instead of dividing in 4 sections) and I end up with a really bad detangling process. Although dividing in sections takes more time for me, I definitely think it's worth it! Now if only I can conquer breakage! Lol

Thank you for mentioning the bit about filing your nails. I've learned this can help,, but I have run into this problem quite a bit (had to start using disposable gloves) because my nails are thin and tear easily
