If you want something 100 percent legit the single best easily available warhammer deal by far is the Age of Darkness Horus Heresy box. Still expensive, but by GW standards cheap. I always rush to recommend this because unlike battleforces and things like Leviathan, its a long term product thats always available. Its gotten maybe 10 percent more expensive over time, but so has everything. Its an excellent way to start a space marine army. The only problem is you have to be okay with slight proxying for the 40K era if that's what you're using it for, but it makes perfect sense as representing your actual in universe force. Sure, run the mark 6 tactical marines as intercessors if you would have wanted intercessors, but for your actual in lore force the intercessor rules perfectly well represent a marine who has mark 6 armour because his chapter has a lot of older or relic equipment. Likewise the Contemptor Dreadnought and Spartan tank make sense because it fits the lore for a 40K chapter to have ancient relics like that, while at the same time those things are perfectly well represented by the rules for their equivalent 40K units.

How I beat shiny object syndrome: a shiny object 😂 Let me explain: Adepta Sororitas recently came out with their 10th edition codex, combat patrol, and special box with the exorcist. Something reminded me of all those years ago, before I knew what warhammer was, I learned about an army of nuns with an artillery organ. I thought it was the coolest shit I ever heard of, but couldn’t find much info online about it cause I didn’t know what to look up. I forgot about it until recently. That was the first army I fell in love with, before I even heard of 40K. So the shiny new army was actually the army I wanted all along. I can now expand in the lore without fear of wanting a new army, for the most part. The nails are starting to bite…

This is basically what I talked about in my video, you connected with an army that spoke to you, and you had some kind of connection with them.

I'm currently working towards trying to sculpt/scratch build some tyranids to help supplement my current army.

The best thing to do is bulk them up with armour and / or exersories that fit your theme, like skulls of mechanical parts, if you need to be larger. And for height, you can easily build them up on cork bases or have them standing on something like another miniture.

@@40Kfordummies I was planning on using armatures with green stuff and milliput and then using EVA foam for the carapace. I was also planning on bulking up the bodies with aluminum foil before adding putty or foam. Does that sound good?

Just started. Dark angels upgrade sprue is 30 bucks and comes with like 3 hoods, some deathwing seargent stuff, a terminator plasma gun and a ravenwing uhh wing. I'd have to buy like 8 just to barely get enough hoods and then have a bunch of terminator and ravenwing stuff left over. All I really want is to give everyone hoods. Yeah I'm gonna start sculpting after I get 2 upgrade sprues for the terminators. Also the winged helmets they sell on ebay are better than what gw offers... I feel like you double the price kit bashing through gw. When youtubers suggest I pick up 2 different chapters shit just to kitbash... How come the combat patrol comes with primaris upgrade sprue with no hoods? Mfers

It is pretty viable to pick up some cheap Dark angels models and bits on Facebook, eBay, and whatnot, and then you can just use that. herd other people do it for there space wolf army.

I am not saying that you would not have Y, I am saying that some times people rush into army collecting and will just go with whatever is easiest without even giving it a second thought and trying the army on a reel term scale.
