    You're doing God's work man. It's absurd how much money it costs to get into NV... for those of us lucky enough to save up for it, it's nice to save a few hundred on the ear pro like this.

    I paid 1800 to build my own pvs14 paid 65 dollar for old surplus pasgt helmet converted it into a high cut, so I'm $2300 in a long with my gen 3 + tube costed me $1,000 it was government contract factory overrun green phosphor tube. I used my old walker razor ear pro as well, and I have two pairs of them, and set of earmor m32 comms for use when I swap em. I also have a unconverted usgi surplus ACH helmet made by MSA I bought for $300 size large off eBay that I'm keeping original only because I like having two different options for two different applications

    Gents, remember; this is a great set up for a beginning point into headsets. You will never regret spending money on some amps/comtacs/etc. the ability to identify which direction a sound is coming from is massive. Save up! Me and my guys got into Comtac VI’s and they have more than surprised me. It’s a big difference know that you are getting shot at, and knowing WHERE you are getting shot from.

    Spend a few more bucks on the Razor Quads, for 360* hearing amplification. I've had the mic jack pop out so many times on the standard Razors I never use it anyway. You can run an ear bud mic under the cups, and it works fine for quiet comms. A lot of PTT Mic's have a plug for an earbud anyway.

  • @Samworfinder
    @Samworfinder11 ай бұрын

    On the topic of fitting a helmet and pads-there is a reason that helmet manufacturers have “fit guides” and “fitting kits” for their specialty helmets. As noted, the helmet is the nerve center for most of the warfighter’s sensory gear: communications headset, night vision goggles, O2 mask, gas mask, and so on. And the head is a very sensitive part of the body. The helmet needs to protect your brain from TBI/ballistic threats while keeping all the aforementioned gear stable and in ready-use placement, all while creating the least amount of discomfort. It is absolutely imperative that a helmet is fit properly to the wearer. If it’s too small, the fit will be too tight and the wearer will experience a pressure headache. To relieve this pressure he may opt to use thinner pads, which leaves him open to possible traumatic brain injury (TBI) in the event of blunt force trauma to the head. If the helmet is too big, the shell could move around on his head during use and compromise coverage in the event of ballistic threats, while also shifting mission-critical gear around. I always recommend biasing toward the larger option if your head measurement puts you in between sizes. The difference can be made up with pads and chinstraps. If your measurement puts you squarely within the range of a specific size, then you may consider yourself lucky and you should stick with that size. One thing is certain: Wearing a helmet that’s too small for your head is one of the most miserable feelings.

    The only issue I have with the walkers is when you rotate them off your ears, they don't hold shape when you rotate them back, and the seal isn't great.

    get a assorted pack of safety pins. Put the rail in the hole then find which size safety pin that goes in the hole with the rail. tis will act as a shim. get your trauma shears and cut the pin to size and shove it in until tight.

    Anyone had any problems with them not sealing off properly? I upgraded to the gel cups which made it a little better than the standard walker cups but my ears tend to end up ringing especially after rifle (shooting unsuppressed).
