How to Walk a Pig
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Join Maddi and her show pig, Nala, as she explains the three tools you need to train a pig to walk and sit. Maddi has years of experience showing pigs and understands how difficult it can be to train a pig to do anything. She breaks down the tools she uses to not only train her pigs but also shows how she builds trust and confidence with them throughout the process. Join Maddi, Nala, and a whole bunch of marshmallows, as we dive into training pigs on the Bar SZ Ranch!

This young lady has excellent composure. Hope I'm blessed enough to have a fine daughter like this someday.

Thank you for watching, Ivan!
What a wonderful young lady--I mean Maddi, but Nala is pretty awesome too! I like how she's giving them attention, stimulation and boundaries, too. Great way to develop a relationship with animals. She's a pro! (Maddi.)
Hey Maddi you have great ideas that i will try with my two pigs named Willem and Sjenkie. I always take them places by having a bit of bread with me or some fruit and convincing them this way to follow me. Your solution for guiding is way more pro!
Thank you so much for making this video! My daughter is showing a pig this year and we needed some tips and tricks on what to do!
My granddaughters absolutely love this video

That is so cool! We are so glad they love watching. Tell them we all said "Howdy!"
Maddi, you're the best! It's so cute to see your love for Nala shine through... when we camped there last week wasn't she the HUGE pig in the corner!? My has she grown! Thank you for this channel and all we can learn from you. Even when we're back in the city, it's great to still get a piece of nature from watching your channel. Lastly, you and your sister should do a video on Vaulting - it was so much fun taking lessons from you two! :)

Great information! How do you get them not to chew on your boots? We have pigs and when I go in the pen with them they constantly try to chew the strap on the back of my boots!
Any tips to keep head up while walking in the show ring? Great video by the way :)
I would like to learn more about showing pigs

Thanks for watching, Joelle! What are you showing?
I am working on training my pig and have about a month until the county show. She does pretty good but how do you get her to move originally and then not stop. My gilt Arizona is having a difficult time starting and then continuing I am new to showing and am unsure of what to do. Thank you!
Maddi, I know your pig loves you! 😄
How do you recommend I tame and walk a grown stubborn pig?
My pig is named Napa too. Do you do fair well I do and it is my first year doing it? Do you have horses because I have also wanted a horses? If you do what are the horses names
I’ve never showed a pig before this is my first time even touching and being with one. I had let him out of his little enclosure and tried to run away so i had to chase him, not only that but every time i show him the whip/guiding tool all he wants to do is chew on it even when i’m trying to guide him, he also keeps trying to bite and nudge me, please i need some advice what do I do?
I wish my daughters to be as inspiring as this one she is so cute, informative and showing well

We have not entered Nala into any fairs. I believe we were going to this year but the fairs were cancelled in our area.
Hey maybe find another treat most marshmallows have gelatin in them

We use marshmallows as treats. Like with any sweet treat, the quantity should be limited. Pigs are omnivorous and marshmallows do not hurt their body systems when fed in very small quantities. Happy trails!
so be annoying to make it turn, nice
