My cat at first HATED the leash but when i opened the door and showed him outdoors he loved it. I live in a aparment so i was scared a dog whould come around and scare him, but nothing happend. When i took hime inside for a break or even for the end of the rest of the day, he started scrathing and meowing at the door.

Two of my cats were instantly super cool with the leash, and one of them even asks me to go out by scratching the door and meowing. But I have another that freaked out at the moment I clipped the leash, so I give each one what they show to enjoy.

I had to get probably 10 harness before i found one that fit. She doest like walking. She does kinda like being dragged though. I should post a vid, its pretty funny

every collar, strap, and harness design i've placed on him has been a 10 second wiggle and he's gone...nope. orange-collar/100% indoor kitty forever. we have people in the area that will kill other folks' pets. cat-killers with .22 pistols. someone reached through a chain-link fence an old ladie's little dog and broke its neck. please keep your fur babies inside. the last time Baxter escaped my wife cried for all 3 hours he was gone. she was certain someone would hurt him or kill him. this is very real, people. if they're not close enough to pick up and take inside, you could lose them.

Today I took my kitten for a walk she didn’t mind kept sitting down a lot though and moaned every time someone walked past. Some people laughed, some people understood and some people said it’s cute. We still got a long way to go though.

When I was visiting Alberta for the first time in 2021, I first saw a person walking a cat on a leash When I moved to my new neighborhood, the girl in the neighborhood always walks her cat on a leash

Cats taken outdoors. Quickly catch fleas. Have and use a flea comb.

My cat refuses to walk with a harness. She gets very stressed so she is an indoor cat.

Tried to teach it inside the house with a harness she just lays down so i just tried putting her outside with the harness and she just started sprinting and forgot she even had it on we taking it day by day and she really seems too like it because when we go back inside she starts meowing at the door she wants to go back outside

My cat is 9 years ago and quite overweight, i want to get her on regular 5min walks to exercise, but she not jjust terrified of dogs but other cats too, she never leaves the backyard.

Is there a higher success rate when you introduce a leash/harness to a young (( 4-5 months old )) kitten? Mine is a door dasher......

just domestic short hair (veterinarian for "mutt"), but the patterning is the often cherished "Tuxedo". not a breed or strain, just a random lovely pattern.

People seems to forget that not only human can catch the coronavirus. Animals like cats and dogs can too. The difference is they don't have access to vaccines for that. And so, even though I do want to try bring my cats out for a walk, I'll wait until the situation (especially in my country) is more feasible and under control. Losing an animal companion to the pandemic is as devastating as the loss of a family member.

And dogs are not cats. 🤷‍♀️ Some cats do very well on leash. Both of my moggies have never had an issue. I've met other cat parents who haven't had any problems. Just depends on the individual cat. 🐈🐈‍⬛🐱

That's true. Walking with a cat is totally different than walking with a dog. Both have their own little wonders. I do prefer to walk cats to dogs most of the time
