How to wake up a Ninebot Segway ES2 ES3 ES4 NEB1002-H 36v internal battery the EASY WAY not charging

I have seen several videos on this and they either show you tear the battery open or drill a hole to access the reset button. This method is easier and will not require opening and possibly damaging your battery.
Good luck.
Caution: Messing with lithium ion batteries is very risky and dangerous. You can severely damage yourself or your property from fire and explosion. Perform at your own risk and I recommend doing this OUTSIDE.

    The connection you are using to charge ties in directly to the control board and I presume draws power to the internal battery from the external battery charge port? When the external battery is installed, it covers the direct charge port for the internal battery. However, as you have internal battery removed, why don’t you just plug directly into that now exposed charge port instead of building an adapter to the xt30? Am I missing something?

  • @chrisluellen

    @chrisluellen

    Жыл бұрын

    Good question and yes your missing something. When the battery is in the scooter you only have access to one charge port. The one on the neck of the scooter. In order to access the other wire to wake it, you have to pull the battery out. The wire that I am jumping to wake is actually running to the controller. Since the battery is in sleep mode the controller is saying "no you cannot charge". And it stays in this mode until you can press the reset button. Which if you've done your research the reset button is inside the housing of the battery and you have to disassemble it or in some videos drill a hole. But I discovered that if you disconnect the battery from the charge controller then there's nothing to tell the battery it cannot get a charge. So when you momentarily add a voltage to that second line it wakes the battery as if you push the reset button. At that point if the battery has enough charge you can throw it back in the scooter and charge it from there. But I always like to just charge it wireless already out to make sure there's no other issues before taking the time to reassemble.

    @@chrisluellen - Ok, I do understand what you are saying and thanks for the response. I just realized where I went wrong. I understand that the battery must be disconnected from the control but I thought the internal battery charger was located on the battery, it is not, it’s located on the control module and is connected via the xt30 cord - that makes more sense given the design of the external battery placement. Anyway - where can I get a female xt30 adapter? Home Depot won’t carry it.

    Is it's not holding a charge for a length of time or will it not charge at all? If it charges but won't hold a charge this will not fix your problem. If it will not show it's charging at all this can fix your problem. The paper clips go into the clip at the red and black wire . Red wire goes to 12 + black wire goes to 12 -
