I think this video just explained a few things I was needing to know about video functions to get better footage. The auto focus and frame rate explanations are perfectly simple and made a lot of sense. Once i tried different frame rates for the different situations it made a world of difference

thanks for the video... Leaarned the AFF mode.. I always used the AF-C mode and pressed everytime to focus. But AFF is good. Only thing is it will eat up battery soon.

Finally got the Z5 with that tiny little kit lens. My first ever foray into full frames, jumping from that entry level APS-C Canon I've been using for years.....so far I have been astonished with the quality of the photos, especially so as this is the quality from a kit lens, not even from an 'S' lens. With IBIS and weather proofing and practically the same magnesium build and button layout without skimping on any single button from the Z6/7, this camera is a bargain! Loved your review thoroughly! 30fps was an old NTSC standard developed for television. Technically it was 29.97. If shooting for television commercials, you’d choose this setting.

Thanks for the video. I know the Z5 isn't the premier video option in the Z5 family, but I felt like it could do better than my cell phone. However, I'm not impressed with it in the editing phase, so I'll play with these settings like you've shown and see if that's better. I'm filming me talking, but at 60p and that's likely the problem.

Im surprised you think the footage isn't as good as your phone. I have a Google Pixel 6 that shoot 4K on - but my 2014 Nikon D750 looks so much nicer - not necessarily from a sharpness point of view but the way the colours and tones blend. Maybe the Z5 doesn't have as good HD as my D750.

@@markshirley01 I said I felt like it could do better than my cell phone. It's absolutely better than my cell phone. Also, changing the settings mentioned in this video made it significantly better. That said, if I had bought the camera for video, I wouldn't have gone with the Z5.

@@AuxArcClimbing the lens also plays a significant part in video quality...I have the less expensive Z50 with some fast aperture lens and the quality is way superior to best cell phone cameras

Can we see the details of our video after recording it like a preview of what are the profile we selected?

This video is great, because it´s considered a not capable camera for video, of course that are better options, but it´s a perfect capable camera for most cases in video. PD: childrens seems the hell of a focusing system lol

How do you meter in video on this camera, I cannot get anything to display other than zebras. Anyway display an actual meter

Great video! When filming with my Nikon z5 I have a lot of noise from the focus ruining my recording, which makes it almost impossible to film a moving object talking for example. Is this just inevitable or do you have a tip to avoid this zooming sound?

I don’t use the sound from the camera. I use Tascam recorders and then sync the sound in post.

How do you find the 1080p Jennifer - I shoot 1080 50p on my D750 and I really like the files I get. I only shoot for social media so don't want 4K. My D750 has particularly good HD because its not optimized for 4K, Im hoping the Z5 HD is the same standard, but as yet I can't find anyone to confirm this.

It will basically track moving objects. Sometimes I’ll click it to track my son’s face but if my other son runs in front it sometimes starts tracking him. But that’s for just one mode. You can also put it to stay in one place.
