Hey Vince.. WOW, you have taught me more about VDJ in this 25 minutes, than I’ve taught myself in the last 10 yrs. I started out as a KJ working for my nephew’s DJ business, then went on my own about 8 yrs ago or so. I purchased VDJ8, and I’ve used this program nightly. However, being a KJ was hard with limited ability with VDJ. BUT, I love the new HOLDER info and such!! Just what I’ve been looking for. I started using Karafun on a monthly subscription for the more up-to-date Karaoke lists, but found that VDJ makes Karafun crash typically 3-4 times a night. This is lovely when you have a singer going at a great song and all of a sudden Karafun Crashes… These new features I didn’t know about will be put in use coming next weeken.. THANK YOU!!!!! Great explanations also!!!

Sounds great. One of my shows has over an hour wait from the moment I get started. It doesn’t slow down until around half an hour before closing. I actually have to stop talking requests way before that. This method would only work for me at my other shows. I’ll give it a try though. Thanks

You need real karaoke tracks. There are many sites on the internet that sell them. Google is your best friend.

Karaoke tracks can be purchased all over the internet. Google is your best friend. They cost around $1.99 to $4.99 per track. You will also need microphones, a monitor to display lyrics and a sound system.

Thank you. I'm brand new to VDJ. This helped a lot. How do you obtain the individual songs? For example, if I want to sing a song that you don't have on your computer, how do you get that? I don't have any music yet & don't know where to begin to get music.

I downloaded pro, but i have not paid any fees, do i need to pay the monthly fee to acces the easy krm plug in. Vince, Help - Purchased Virtual DL last week been getting used to it after using Singlos Karaoke Professional. Anyway ran an update and now when I start the Karaoke show - The Auto Mix starts however when I start the Karaoke track the auto mix does not stop. So I manually start the auto mix and when I start the next Karaoke track The auto mix continues to play? Thoughts?

Yes that's correct. The reason is because the developer of the KRM plugin has made many updates to it since this video was recorded. So now you have a bunch of side buttons that didn't exist at the time I made this video.

I would just DJ from the right deck only using automix. Leave the left deck for Karaoke tracks. That's just me though.

Thanks!! Not exactly sure what you're asking. I don't use any folders for the worklist. I just add singers songs to it. The worklist is the "placeholder" for the songs for the karaoke rotation list.

I do not recommend the VDJ karaoke subscription. Not many songs on it. There are no karaoke subscriptions that work with VDJ. You have to buy the tracks separately.

When saving karaoke songs what is the process for listing them as karaoke. Does VDJ recognize the format of a CDJ automatically? What if you have a video downlladed from youtube. Can you marjk that as karaoke or do you just put it in a karaoke foleder?

VDJ recognizes karaoke zip files and also mp4 files. If you have some ripped mp4 karaoke files from KZread, then you should put "karaoke" somewhere in the title so you know it's a karaoke track. VDJ will put a little microphone icon next to the other karaoke tracks.

Right click on the video and select Tag Editor. In the window that pops up, you should see a box to check in the lower right corner to indicate whether or not it is karaoke.

You have no tips about sidechain and voiceover for speech to lower the music volume?

Make sure under the layout tab at the top left, you are under PRO mode and not STARTER. Then you'll see a MASTER tab in the middle toward the right.

Hey great tutorial , if your karaoke playlist gets full and you have problems adding new requests to the bottom, as the list fills up, just drop the new request on to the karaoke tab below the list ,and it will appear at the end of the list , this saves accidentally inserting them out of order , this also works inserting to the other tabs such as the automix list too

I got it to work! Just needed to update my vdj even though I thought I had auto updates on. Anyway, I am currently having an issue where if I keep the holder button on & have multiple songs for one person in the working list, it adds their next song to the #1 position under their name & adds their name to the very bottom as well with a place held? If I uncheck the holder button the work list works fine but then new singers with no other songs in work list will get deleted! Needless to say I had 27 singers last Friday and this was a gigantic mess!

Another thing is not being able to customize the scroller at all. It just says "up now" and then lists the singers no matter what you write in the text box on the master video section

@@stuartpaul9211 You know you don't have to work that way, right? That's the beauty of VDJ. You can create whatever kind of workflow you desire. I am a DJ first and a control freak second lol. Therefore I LOVE going to my auto mix folder between songs. That control for me is priceless.

hi, yesterday I did my first karaoke show with vdj after using dex 3 for a year and a half, I watched your video several times and it was very instructive, helped me a lot. What I did experience and was difficult, but I think the fault lies with me, 1. after having introduced a few singers via workinglist and then list I saw that names of singers had changed, wrong numbers with wrong singers. 2. in the video when you press the karaoke song start the mix goes very smooth, and at the end the automix jumps back in, I have karaoke songs that sometimes have a silence and then you have to wait for the song to stop until we have sound from the automix again, not pleasant. 3. I work in a business with 16 TV screens, so I don't use mp3 in the automix but video files. so the crossfader really has to go from left to right, 4. every time I open vdj I have to put every list back in the search list. how do I solve all this and which points in the options should I adjust. can you help me with this please

Hi there. Hopefully I can answer all of your questions. 1. Not sure what you mean. The numbers will decrease as each singer finishes singing. That's supposed to happen. Not sure if that is what you are talking about though. 2. Go to your karaoke settings, in the KARAOKE box there is a little dot next to the button you use to turn KARAOKE ON. Set the background music to NONE. Now you have complete control and no more awkward silence. 3. Under your VIDEO tab, (AUDIO, VIDEO, SCRATCH, MASTER) there is a little button on the bottom right side of your video window. Select "Video Crossfader" - "Linked to Audio." Now you can crossfade videos smoothly. 4. I have noticed this too. It wasn't always like that. I think VDJ people did something to it. In the video, when I brought Vivian from working list to karaoke list, it put Vivian at the bottom of the karaoke list. It did not put her in place of Justin as you described. @@DJ2Legit007 OK so now I'm searching for it under 'extensions' but it doesn't come up- I have Virtual DJ Pro version- and it's not under the 'effects' button as you show in the video- any ideas? Many thanks!!

Doesn't say anything about how to actually get a karaoke program installed... waste of time...

The karaoke program is called Virtual DJ. The plugin is called EasyKRM and you can install it directly from VDJ on the extensions page. If you need more assistance, VDJ has a great responsive forum where you can get help.

Really greaaaat yeaaaaaaah, but where are the words? All beautiful but you need to go straight to the point man, still can't view the text of my karaoke base... WTF I've lost 25 minutes of my life
