How to Use Traditional Art in Digital Painting | Photoshop Digital Painting Tutorial | Xp Pen Deco.

In this video we will learn how to use traditional art in digital painting. This video is going to be a tutorial in digital painting in photoshop using XP pen Deco 01 v2. In this particular tutorial we will learn how to painting a realistic still life scene of peeled off oranges in a brass vessel. People think that digital art is a very mechanical medium and there is no requirement of prior knowledge of painting in traditional art to paint well in digital medium. But in reality, that’s not the case. Actually, the techniques regarding color synthesis values and the texture that we learn during traditional art helps greatly with digital painting. In this video I have particularly tried to touch on some points which are very essential to inculcate in digital painting what actually originates from the experience of painting with traditional medium.

It's also helpful when you are picking up the areas of color from the photo with the eyedropper.

I am certainly not against of using eyedropper tool. It's a tool afterall to make life easier! In this particular video, I was comparing it with the approaches used while painting or drawing manually. That's it.

Adding special effects to photographs (as you call "smart painting") is a type of art, tho. There are many ways to create visual art. You still have to make decisions about how to alter the photo. But if you are talking about bringing in a photo and running an action on it once, then yes, that takes no skill at all.

Indeed, it is. But there are people who won't admit a smudge painting as smudge and will try to deceive people with artistic jargons. I feel that's not right. It's better to accept than faking. Hope you get my point. Cheers and thanks for sharing your point.
