Thanks, this was very helpful. I'm planning to take a train trip in UK this summer -coming from the US. Do you know if the train app will work and show stops, etc. if you are using a railcard? Or is it directly connected to the ticket you purchased?

Yes if you download Trainline, it shows the stops. It depends on where you buy your railcard. If you buy it on the Trainline app then it will be connected but if you buy it elsewhere, you’ll just need to show it on the app you’ve bought it when asked.

What happens when you take wrong train?

Had this recommended by the algorithm and I am confused: Why does the thumbnail to this (9 min short) video on public transit in the UK show a Belgian Intercity train inside Antwerp Centraal station (Antwerp in the North of Belgium, near the border to the Netherlands)? Also: a train that - at least in this form - does not run in the UK.

It seems that not many people use trainpal. I feel that it is more reliable than trainline and has more discounts.

Trainpal is pretty nice. Because I found it has 20% discount for buying the railcard with the code recently. If you want to know, I will share it, free!
