Great presentation. Is it possible to use the sony recorder for the audio when making a video with power point on my PC?

Yes Lucy, you can. There are a couple of ways to achieve this. 1. You can record your audio using the ux560 and then import the audio into your PPT. 2. You can get a male to male 3.5mm cable, connect one end to your headphone jack on the ux560 and the other end to the mic input on your PC. Then narrate and record your PPT. Your PC will record audio from the ux560 into your PPT.

Hello. I've tried to record my guitar with the ux560, but it only records to the left channel, I can't get it to work with stereo. I have tried to use cables p10 mono/p2 stereo, p10 stereo/p2 stereo and p10 mono/p2 mono. Where I can change the configurations so that it works with stereo and which cable should I use?

Angelo, there's no setting on the Sony for stereo recording. What you need is cable that has mono, TS on one end and Stereo TRS on the other - male to male. Keep in mind that what you get is fake stereo, one channel doubled up. Real stereo requires 2 sound sources, 2 guitars, 2 mics etc. You can also use audio software, for instance Audacity, to create a stereo recording from a mono recording (duplicate the mono), the end result is the same.

Does this recorder have a playback speaker? If yes, how loud is the speaker to listen to the recorded audio?

Yes, it does have a tiny playback speaker, that's on the bottom. For how small the speaker is, I am impressed with the loudness at full volume. Though it does have very little bass, which is to be expected. For a better experience, use a pair of good headphones for playback, as it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

So the volume rockers on the side are only for listening purposes? They aren't used to control the sensitivity of mics?

Yes, they are only used for controlling the volume of playback.

Sir, I have to record a 12 hour class session, in an auditorium. Current settings are: Scene: Lecture In-built mic sensitivity: Medium (medium) Filter: Noise Cut Is this okay? Should something be changed?

A couple of suggestions: I would recommend that you get a pair of headphones/earbuds and monitor the recording for a minute (check out this post weloty.com/how-to-monitor-the-sound-quality-of-your-interview/). You might get better quality audio with Medium (Focused) or Medium (Wide) sensitivity settings (it all depends on room acoustics). If you have a microSD card, I'd suggest you set that as your storage location and record using the WAV format. If not then record using the mp3 format; the wav format takes up a lot of storage space. Hope that helps...

@@_weloty The room acoustics was bad. Ended up using medium (wide) settings. Thankyou very much for the advice. 🙂

I connected my recorder to a external microphone, but now it's not working. Nothing is recording here. What should I do?

Couple of reasons of why an external mic might not work. The ux560 supports TRS microphones, so if you have a TRRS mic, then you'll need an adapter (see replies for more). Secondly, the ux560 outputs plug-in power. Most good lav mics need power, and some come with a power module. If your mic has a battery module, you may need to switch it off for it to work with the ux560.
